"N-No...that's not what I meant..." She said as she hid her face with her palms.
"I'm afraid that if I took longer I might disrespect you. I might not be able to hold back." their half-naked bodies felt the warmth of each other.
Silence arose from them but it was only later after that Venemiah spoke calmingly with a gentle whisper that clung to the tip of his tongue. "I wished you feel safe with me, Empress. Fear me not..."
Selestia knew not how to feel about it. It seemed to her that the Emperor treated her as if she was one of the precious minerals of Thuhelda that was held guard and kept under secure protection.
To this extent, his arms were that secure protection that sheltered her body with his warmth.
She swerved her head to her right to avoid gazing at him. He was a tease, if she would look at him longer, Selestia would be founded with great attraction for him.
"Are we waiting for them to come? Are we staying like this for the night?"
"Hmm..." He responded.
'Was he asleep? Is he sleepy? After all the energy earlier?'
She stole a glance from him, his eyes were shut and a peaceful manifestation was on his countenance. For some bizarre reason, Selestia felt warm in her heart. He looked like a tiny baby clinging onto her, it was as if this baby right here was staying close to his refuge. As she gazed at him, she can't hold herself from smiling.
She giggled subtly. For some frigid emperor, it was intriguing to look this peaceful since he always was expressionless when he was awake. It was only when she was around that he vied to warm himself with a countenance filled with expression.
Perhaps he wanted to impress her?
"Empress, please stop gazing at me, or else I might melt..." he jested.
A line was drawn on her brows as they furrowed. She tossed her eyes and looked away.
"I was only jesting. You can look at me all you want, you can also fall in love with me, I won't mind melting..."
She sprung up from her lying position, she shot a grimacing look at him whilst his eyes were still closed as he pretended. His other opened, and he peeked at her. He sneered at her and chuckled with mischief which hugged his facial expressions.
"I knew not that an emperor such as you could be this aggravating..." She crossed her arms.
"I knew you were this short-tempered." he smiled.
He tapped the bed twice, his elbow stood a foundation as his palm held his head. "Lie with me, Empress..."
Her grimace grew bigger, once he noticed, he stood up and hugged her gently. He gave another peck on her shoulders as if he was winning her over.
Just like a couple who were in a little argument, tightly his arms wrapped her. "Lie with me, would you, my Empress?"
"If you do not, you will be suspected of being too disobedient...who would want an empress who knew not how to abide by her Emperor?"
He was provocative and so does his eyes. Or maybe he just wanted her to have a taste of her own medicine. After all, this was the way she acted.
Selestia laid down, she had a grimace on her face and aggravation on her watches. But Venemiah was calm, his eyes looked at her with delight and marvel. It was as if his sights were glued onto her and it was raising Selestia's aggravation more.
"Should I melt because you were looking at me like that?" She suggested.
"To be precise, I am still the one melting here..." He hugged her tighter. "Who knew that you were as hot as the sun and prettier than everything which exists..."
"Play me not, Emperor. I do not believe ridicules of me."
He gave a peck on her shoulder once more and his eyes slowly shut. "Do you not believe you are beautiful?"
"I thought you knew me well, out of all descriptions, beautiful was never a word to describe me..."
He chuckled, "Did you suppose that since your sister, Duchess Freiya was named the most beautiful face in all of Uryasha?"
Selestia did not answer. She always bore hatred and contempt against Freiya. She was less likely to be enthroned but she had a feeling that she was perilously prevailing with her. As if she wanted to steal a crown from her.
"Believe me when I say that you are prettier than a duchess. You are my Empress, the most beautiful empress there is."
"Act not as if you knew me so well, Emperor. I mean no disrespect, but your words somehow crept a sensation of lies within me."
He chuckled. "Really? Then, may I know you?"
She looked at him, "You are not obliged in knowing me, you were only to marry me then why do you act as if I was the interest that piqued you?"
His hand touched her face and gently caressed her face. "It was because you are."
He smiled. His eyes warmly welcomed hers, she stared into his gazes with marvel and a tinge of confusion peeked on the windows of her apertures.
How could he say such a thing? Did they know not of each other? Or was it because he knew what she plan to do? But it seemed like he doesn't.
If he knew, he would have killed Grandell and would not let him off, he would not marry her, instead, he should have murdered her. Then what was it that was so interesting about a lady like her?
Her status? Her wealth? Could it be her personality?
But all those things were nothing compared to what he had. Her status was far too trivial for him to pique interest, same was for her wealth. Her personality was not that much of a difference either.
She was just her. So what could it even be?
But before she could respond to him, Venemiah was already lost in his sleep. His arms tightly embraced her and that peaceful face was prevailing once again.
Selestia found it not right to even talk, it would be disrespectful to wake from a peaceful sleep. Not long after, Selestia also found herself rested, lost in the trance of slumber.
Her hand was above his head, the other held his arm whilst he, Venemiah laid his head on her chest and his muscular arms hugged her tiny waist.
Thereupon, the night was served.
