Chapter 2 - Celestial Federation

"Getting married?" Confused, she coughed.

"Was I fooled?" Grandel spoke, he was perplexed. Why would someone fool him for this matter?

Grandel was widely known as the noble who fetches news for the princess. Maybe it was intended to reach her, but for what cost?

"Who told you that?"

"Well, I got the news from Nilus."

Selestia got even more confused. Nilus is the Majesty's royal butler. He was serious and rigorous, if Grandel were fooled, it would've made sense if it came from a different person than him. It just caused her greater perplexity, what was intended for this?

Selestia sprinted toward the King's study, though no one should see His Majesty without giving word in advance, Selestia disregarded it. Presently, what's important is to know what was going on. She would rather not remain perplexed until this lasts.

What compelled her was the idea of whether it was true or if it isn't.

'Nilus wouldn't lie about anything, knowing him, he wouldn't be wandering the palace just to fool anyone. It was just not him. What could possibly be happening? Am I really getting married? Then, why was I only later informed? Is it too late to prevent marriage? No, it would be, if it's just for preparation it can be prevented, but what if it's not? What if its purpose was to hide it from me? Just so they could marry me off in surprise?'

"Father!" She yelled outside his study.

"Milady, you're not supposed to be here! The King is in an important conference!"

"I need to see my father, so let go of me!"

The maid wrapped her hand around her as she continued to struggle. It was a mess, a few more maids were called to stop her, but it was of no use, she won't stop.

"I said, let go of me!" She screamed as if she were a lion who roared mightily, it was enough to unnerve the maids, and slowly, they moved their hands off her and let her go.

She eyed them menacingly, each of their eyes. "Do you not know how to obey royalty? You are maids. Your job is to obey and satisfy me when you follow my orders. How can you turn deaf when I told you to let me go numerous of times? What is this disrespect you're putting in an exhibition before me?"

"Milady, I am truly sorry. The King ordered not to disturb him during this conference."

"I am Selestia LeCelestine, princess of Celeste, I who pity you, do you think I am a disturbance? I am entitled to join myself in a conference with the royal board." She confidently apprised.

"The thing is, milady. The King is not holding a conference with the royal board…" the maid spoke, though her voice slowly withdrew, her body wavered in fear and intimidation.

"Then, that makes it even better…" she grinned.

Selestia pushed the door open, "Father! I need to speak with you this instant!" She strongly exclaimed.

"Selestia…" the King stood.

Everyone looked so pale when they saw her. She noticed their expression, and it brought her to a feeling that she strangely felt.

"What? You people looked like you've seen a ghost…go on, continue." She tapped the King's shoulder as she plopped herself down on his seat, she crossed her feet whilst she gave this sinister snicker toward every life inside the room.

"Selestia, why are you here? Why should you be here? You do realize you can't intervene in an authoritarian conference, don't you?"

Her eyes glared at the King, she was vexed. Something was not told to her, she was not informed of something, and it pulled a nerve.

"Well, it seems like the King did not disclose a matter with me, even if it greatly involves me. I have to hear it from someone, and I came here to show you how much you vexed me, Father."

Her eyes stared a threat to her father.

It was no wonder why everyone paled when they saw her. Just like a snake, Selestia was poisonous. It was believed she could kill someone in a second. Growing up, Selestia taught herself to fight and was a great swordsman. Because of her experience in the field of war, Selestia prevailed to be destructive as long as she breathed. Even the King knew he had to prepare for his life every time Selestia wander around.

It is one reason why some people abhorred her, though she was an asset, she was also a threat. An asset to the kingdom yet a threat to anyone's life.

She's far too great of an opponent that's why everyone tried to make her an ally but Selestia was only neutral, her top priority is herself and excelling greater so that Freiya could not steal anything from her.

"C-Come on, Selestia…what are you talking about?" Nervously, the King tried to fiddle with her.

"Look at yourself and how you exploit to plead your way out. Father, don't play the folly here. Why are you marrying me off?"

Wide-eyed, the King fumbled on his seat and fell to the floor with great astonishment. 'She found out!'

"You thought I wouldn't learn of it, Father? Nilus happened to inform Grandel about the matter. I don't believe anything that came from Nilus is a lie or anything that is intended to fool anyone."

"That can't be true, milady. Grandel and I had never conversed with each other. If I conclude, he must have eavesdropped." Nilus spoke.

"It doesn't matter how Grandel got the information, what mattered is you all lied to me. I'm well certain that this conference is about the matrimonial, is it not?"

"I can explain, Selestia…"

"Then do…" she looked down at him. Her eyes darkened as they viewed her Father, who was on the floor after he fell.

Selestia learned that she will be marrying the Emperor of Thuhelda. Thuhelda is a vast empire that sustained the longest among all the kingdoms in the continent of Uryasha. Thuhelda was said to be the empire of gold. It was said to be abundant in riches and was the main source of gold in the mines around the reach of the dominion. Like Celeste, Thuhelda traded a significant amount of gold and earned them bounty but because their commodity was gold, Thuhelda became the richest nation in all of Uryasha.

The reason behind marrying her off? The King knew she was a poise to threat. He thought she was a menace, and marrying her off was the only thing he can think of.

"Wouldn't it benefit Celeste if you marry the Emperor? Celeste is known for being abundant with crops, we are the source of comestibles and provender. If we form a federation with Thuhelda, Celeste will be protected and would benefit from wealth as well. Celeste is always bountiful with the blessings of the field, but we are hopeless of gold and jewelry, we have no mineral sources for our armors and defenses to be built. We are far behind the other kingdoms when it comes to our defense, with this coalition with Thuhelda, Celeste will prosper in so many ways." Her father explained.

She looked at him with a glare, she just couldn't believe all this that he told her. How will she even pull away from the such fate that is bound to her now that she knows what great of a benefit this opportunity will give Celeste?
