Marigold was completely inebriated and later fell asleep. When Ethel noticed Marigold's phone was ringing, she had no choice but to accept Raymart's call.
"Hello? Is this Marigold's husband?" Ethel inquired nervously.
"Yes. Why did you have my wife's phone? And, by the way, who is this?" Raymart wondered, but his tone remained polite.
"This is Ethel. Do you remember me? I am Marigold's cousin, and we met at the bar when you jokingly proposed to her," Ethel replied softly.
"Oh. I see. But I'm curious what my wife is doing in your home. And do you know why she didn't answer my calls?"
"Perhaps it's because she's upset," Ethel said, but her tone was unsure and she seemed to be asking Raymart back.
"Do you have any idea why she got upset?" Raymart asked, "Because we didn't have any quarrels and we've been chatting via text message when she's at work."
