Coincidentally, Paula and Charlie took the same elevator. Both of them were silent not until Charlie began to speak.
"How's the work?"
Paula raised her brows and glanced at her ex-lover. "Why are you asking me? You're not my boss and we're working in a different department though."
"What I mean to say is, how are you feeling upon the announcement that there's going to be a welcome party for Mr. Luis Salcedo?" His tone was cold enough to imply that Paula's possible answer would definitely make him upset.
"Why are you so curious to know that? We're not close to begin with. Not anymore," Paula responded and pushed the 15th floor button. And it's also the same floor that Charlie intends to go to.
"But we already talked the last time you finally resumed work. Why are you avoiding me?"
