Chapter 6 - (CHAPTER 6: APOLOGIZE)

"Ding-"

"Coming!" I could hear someone approaching the door. I place my hand into the coat pocket, an hour of walking in the winter, I felt pain cold from yesterday. "Hello-" She opened the door, but the moment she saw my face, she immediately tried to close the door shut. "Wait!" I place my feet on the door creak, while holding it open with my hand. "Please! Let me explain!"

"No, you liar!!" she screamed. "Trust me!" I insisted, squeezing my hand through the gap. "She is just my younger cousin, Kasumi!" "Your, cousin?" She stopped her pushing, but still didn't open the door. "Yeah." I nodded, trying to be as truthful as sincere as possible. "She is staying here for the holiday, if you don't believe you can ask her."

"Really?" She raised an eyebrow before letting out a deep breath and opened the door, causing me who is leaning on it to fell right down on my face. "Then what brings you here." She asked, watching we struggling to stand back up. "I wanted to say sorry for what happened last night." I scratched the back of my head and apologized. "I never expected you would, you know, travel that far away to pay me a visit. And I am really sorry for hiding all of this up for you, messing up the mood." "Hmph!" She looked at the other side, pouting, even her angry face look so cute. "Besides…" After hesitating for a moment, I asked out. "I needed your help too…"

"Shopping!?"

"Apparently she had no clothe since she lost her luggage on check out." I made up a genius lie, bloody genius, still felt the guilt though. "I wanted to bought her some basic clothing, utensils or something. But I had no idea, so I came for your help." "You came all the way for her…" She mumbled under her breath. "I thought you came all the way to continue what we end up last night…" "Anything?" Seeing she mumbling under her breath, I approached her and asked. "Gah!" She immediately backs up, waving her hands. "Nothing! Nothing at all. I will prepare first, meet me after a minute, make yourself at home!" With that she storms up stair leaving the dumbfounded me alone at the doorstep.

It is still snowing outside, the wind didn't give a fuck about all beings, it sure is chilly. Should I take a seat at the living room while waiting for her? She said make myself at home, right? "Damn she sure is rich." I plopped myself in the gigantic sofa, in the gigantic living room, beneath the gigantic chandelier as I waited. "She is the boss, so whatever, I shrugged before taking one of the magazines stacks on the coffee table and began reading as I waited.

"What should I do!" Yui paced in her bedroom, shirts, skirts, underwear, clothing of all kind were tossed all across the room. "Is this a date? This is a date, right?" She asked herself anxiously as she tried all sorts of dresses, trying to find one that suit her. But somehow, none of them will, not even that one she bought with ten thousand credits. "Which clothe will he like…" she scratch her head, anxious, shy and embarrassed by her own action. Just then she saw a set of outfit hung at the old, forgotten corner of her cupboard, flooded and forgotten by the others. It had been years since she wore it, but one stare seems to bring her back to memories…

"What do you want boy?" It was a cold winter morning, with few people out on the streets, only a few customers were at the café, all warming up, using it as a pit stop. "I, I wanted a cup of hot chocolate." The teenage boy sitting at the corner of the café handed her a bunch of random credits, each of them polished by his sweat, enough, barely enough for a cup of hot chocolate.

"Of course, please wait." She smiled, nodding, accepting the credits before heading towards the counter to finish his order. "One hot chocolate~" She placed down a gigantic cup of steaming hot, melted chocolate goodness, with whipped cream, toasted marshmallows and caramel topping it. "No, I didn't order this." The boy waved his hands. "Today is the last day before winter holiday, we are having a promotion." She smiled. "Enjoy!"

The boy took a sip out of the metal cup, warm, very warm. He felt energy returning back to him, he could feel himself being replenish. He take a stare at the street, before taking a quick glimpse at the shopkeeper. A tomboy, seems like the type of person who likes to act big and talk big. But yet she treated him with such kindness, compare to those fakers back then. Thinking about his existence, the hellish life back then, he couldn't control but felt a sudden sourness gushing up his nose. For the first time, he was treated kindly without any gain or attempt, unlike those so call "kindness".

When the first snowflake was rained down, the knot between a stranger boy with a tomboy waitress was tied.
