Outside the Neon Dragon Night Club.
"There she is!" Jacky waved Lillian over to the front of the line to the club. Her coworker turned friend was having an excited conversation with the bouncer as she awkwardly walked past the rest of the people standing in line.
The bouncer greeted Lillian with a head nod and a smile, then checked her ID before she followed Jacky into the club.
"Thank you, Ms. VIP. I thought I was gonna have to wait out in the cold for 30 minutes before getting inside," Lillian bantered with her friend as she lead the way to a back hallway where her fiance's band was hanging out.
"Hey guys, this is my work buddy I was telling you about." Jacky moved over to her fiance and linked arms with him as Lillian waved her hand and introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Lillian. Good luck on stage tonight! I'm really excited to see you perform!"
"Haha, thanks. Coming from a cute girl like you, I feel like we're gonna have to give an epic show tonight," the tattooed band member furthest to the left smoothly commented, taking a step closer to Lillian.
Lillian forced a smile and laugh, not sure how to react to his obvious interest in her. Normally, she wouldn't hesitate to shoot down his advances, but she didn't want to put Jacky in an uncomfortable spot by doing so.
Luckily, Jacky noticed Lillian's discomfort and quickly stepped in. "Oi, Thomas, can you not make moves on my friend? She's out of your league. I'm sure you'll have tons of fan girls throwing themselves at you after the show anyway."
She moved over to Lillian and grabbed her hand. "Ok, we just dropped by to say hi and wish you guys good luck. We gotta go get ourselves a good spot on the dance floor now before it gets too late. It's pretty packed out there. It's gonna be an awesome night!"
They then made their way out to the main dance floor, and found a good spot close to the stage and center in the ever growing crowd. Another one of Jacky's friend's came to join them, bringing cocktails as she weaved her way through the crowd. Lillian couldn't quite hear her name in the loud club, but she thinks it was Hannah. She had a cool girl vibe, just like Jacky, her short hair dyed a crimson red and piercings up and down both ears.
The energy in the club was great when Jacky's fiance's band hit the stage. Their music was a kind of synth rock sound with a lot of cool vocals and sick beats. Everyone on the dance floor was getting real into the music, moving their bodies in rhythm with the beat.
Lillian was feeling a nice warm buzz from the sweet cocktail Hannah brought her earlier, her body felt loose as she moved her arms and legs to the music. The three of them had fun dancing together in the packed crowd, energy rushing through them as the band finished their set on stage.
When they finally finished their opening act, the club put on some generic house music before the headlining DJ made their way on stage to light up the night. Lillian, Jacky, and Hannah used the opportunity to grab another round of drinks. Jacky, being the wild child that she is, bought them all tequila shots that she made them down in addition to the cocktails they were getting.
"BOTTOMS UP LADIES!!" Jacky pushed the double shots into their hands and made sure everyone threw it back in one go before biting on their limes.
Lillian coughed a bit at the strong alcohol hitting the back of her throat. After finishing the shot, she quickly went for her cocktail to wash the harsh taste out of her mouth. She had asked the bartender for something fruity and sweet and they definitely delivered. The taste of guava juice was refreshing in her mouth as they made their way back out onto the main floor.
They had just squeezed their way back to their original spot, when the music suddenly stopped and the whole room went dark. No one knew what was going on until suddenly lights flashed onto the stage and a person wearing a neon cat mask could be seen. They raised their right hand up and pointed to the ceiling, then slammed it down onto their turntable and made the beat drop. The club went wild as soon as the music started, energetic dancing filling the floor.
It seemed like the dance floor became even more packed than before as more people entered the club. Jacky tried to yell into Lillian's ear to explain the cat masked DJ was super popular right now, but they like to remain mysterious and only do surprise shows. She figured the show was probably trending on social media right now, and it'd only get more crowded at the club.
Lillian kind of got the jist of what Jacky was saying, but three strong drinks in, the room was swaying and the lights were sparkling as she moved her hips side to side, her sense of time fleeting as the night dragged on.
She wasn't sure how long she'd been dancing when she felt a strange presence from behind. An unknown man rested his head on her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her waist. The sudden intrusion on her space, snapped Lillian out of her trance. She tried to pull the man off of her, but his grip on her was too strong as he grinded on her from behind.
Argh, what the f*ck is wrong with this creep! Lillian screamed in her head as she tried to wrestle out of the man's arms.
She looked around anxiously for Jacky and Hannah, but neither of them were in sight. She then vaguely remembered Jacky telling her they were going out for a smoke, regretting now that she had not gone with them.
Lillian began planning in her mind an escape plan, if the creepy man decided to try anything further, still trying to pry his arms from around her waist.
She was struggling with all her might to pull off one of his hands, when all of a sudden she felt his weight suddenly disappear and a coat draped over her shoulders.
