It was about one in the afternoon when the middle-aged man came to find He Ao, bringing both He Ao and Ennie back toward the clan chief's cabin.
"Has the Merck clan grown impatient lately, and could they possibly launch an attack soon?"
On the way, He Ao asked softly.
"It's possible," the middle-aged man nodded. "I will order an increase in our defenses. Mr. Pete, rest assured, our clansmen are all adept at war. Even if the high priest of the Merck clan came in person, we would be able to hold our ground against them."
"Better safe than sorry,"
He Ao said with a smile, softly.
"Indeed."
The middle-aged man also nodded in agreement.
He Ao knew the middle-aged man was humoring him; the man had his own pace and arrangements and wouldn't change the entire camp's defensive posture based on a single comment from him.
And after all, it was just a speculation without concrete evidence.
Still, thanks to He Ao's reminder, the middle-aged man might pay a little more attention.
