The slender, white fish surged out of the water along the fishing line.
"Grandpa,"
The little boy, watching the fish dancing in the curtain of rain, excitedly turned to the elderly man beside him, "I caught one!"
"Very good, very good."
The elderly man took out a plastic bag from his pocket, slowly squatted down, scooped up a bagful of river water from the rain, and then reached out to catch the little fish that flew through the air, removed the fishhook, and put the fish into the bag.
Then he smiled at the excited little boy who was waving his fishing rod and gave him a thumbs up, "That's impressive."
"Hehe."
The little boy happily shook his body.
The pattering rain tapped on the old straw hats of the young and old, the large and small.
"Shall we go home then?"
The elderly man, holding the bag with the fish, extended his withered palm toward the little boy.
