The scattered moonlight spilled over the silent city. The immense mecha's pure white jet of light at its back flickered for a moment before changing direction and descending slowly.
Finally, the mecha landed between rows of abandoned and dilapidated buildings, crouching down and placing its hands on the ground.
"Looks like we've arrived."
Gast glanced around and pulled the young agent beside him down from the mecha's palm.
Then the mecha retracted its palm and stood up again. The light from its back sputtered somewhat unstably as it flew back into the sky.
"Hey, you're still alive, huh?"
A slightly surprised voice came from the side.
In the immersive darkness of the night, a buxom redhead woman, with a slim lady's cigarette dangling from her lips, slowly emerged from the dark street.
"Lena?"
Gast paused as he took in the woman before him.
"What, surprised?"
Lena smiled and walked towards Gast and his companion.
