The SUV's heater hummed loudly, and Bayert glanced at the frosted window, cursing under his breath.
"Those bastards actually have us doing this kind of work, it's just unreasonable. Levins is barely equal to you, Lord Bayert. What right does he have to command us?"
The man sitting in the passenger seat wiped the window with his hand, looking out at the hexagonal base of the tower-like device that was surrounded by their off-road vehicle convoy.
Layers of pale blue radiance flowed through the cracks between each tier of the device.
"Levins really is too arrogant."
Bayert snorted coldly.
But he didn't say more.
Arrogance is one thing, but whether or not you can beat someone is another.
