The dim night shrouded the noisy city, and sudden bursts of gunfire sounded on the silent streets.
Amidst the dangerous racket, clusters of monsters swarming towards the skyscrapers kept falling.
Standing in a towering office, Kodo brushed aside the curtain beside his desk and peered down at the seemingly endless swarm of monsters pouring from the city.
There appeared to be flickering car lights approaching in the distance; in this pitch-black city, people still uncollected scurried like headless flies on the streets, dodging the monsters.
"How are things?"
Kodo picked up the walkie-talkie and pressed the talk button.
"Boss, we're still holding up,"
came the intermittent laughter through the walkie-talkie, mixed with the sound of gunfire, "These monsters are a piece of cake for us. These guys have no idea what place they've come to. You don't need to come down; we'll have it cleaned up soon."
"Good."
Kodo replied and let the curtain fall.
