School hasn't gotten any easier. It's still the same old hell hole it always was. Walking down the blue and white hallways lead you to an either gray or beige painted classroom, it's always been misleading to me. You'd think these nice colors would mean you'd be going somewhere nice. But to top it all off. The cherry on top of this shit sundae is math class. My first class of the day, where I have to sit right next to my all time favorite person. Aidan. I hate having to sit next to him. He always has this smug look on his face. I don't know if he's still caught up on everything that's happened to us. That's the most annoying part. My mind is racing with thoughts about what happened but I doubt he thinks about it at all. At least not as much as me anyways. Now I have to go sit near him. He's been getting to class much earlier now. So I have to see him as soon as I walk into class. Okay Devon. Just go and sit down like you always do. Just never look in Aidan's direction. Face the front of the class and never look diagonally behind you. You've been doing it for two weeks, so you might as well keep going. Just focus on whatever Mr. Martinez is about to say.
"Alright class listen up! We have a new student joining us today. They switched in from Mrs. Noya's class. Say hello to Liam Thompson. He'll be a part of the class for the rest of the year so make him feel welcome." A new student?
"How about you say a little about yourself to the class Liam." Liam. Such a name.
"Alright. My name's Liam. I like reading and literature and stuff." Is that a pride flag pin on his shirt? No way. He's actually just wearing that proudly? Don't people say things to him?
"Thank you Mr. Thompson. Just go sit in that seat behind Devon. Raise your hand for me Devon."
What? Oh ok. He's sitting behind me. Liam. A strange name. He seems like a nice guy. I like his outfit. A plain gray shirt with jeans. It makes him look confident. Like he knows what he's doing. Wish I could have that confidence. I mean he's just wearing a pride pin like that. Don't people tell him things?
"Excuse me, it's Devon right?" Did he just speak to me?
"Y-Yeah it's Devon. Can I help you with something?"
"It's just…I wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened to you. Getting outed to everyone can be hard." What?
"What? How did you know I was...Why are you saying this?"
"I just wanted to give you some support. Just to let you know you're not alone. If you ever need anything, then just come to me."
"Oh ok…thanks Liam."
"Don't mention it."
Woah. I mean just wow. That was so unexpected. I've just been getting laughed at since that stupid Instagram post. It's weird to be shown some kindness. Is Aidan staring at me? I swear he was looking at me. I kinda saw it in the corner of my eye. He must have heard us. Does he know Liam? Did he send Liam after me? Is this some kind of joke? Oh god is it? Maybe Aidan did send him? No. No that's stupid. Is it? After what happened with Aidan, I don't trust anything. Maybe I should talk to Liam after class. During lunch or something. Yeah. Yeah that'll be nice.
"Alright class, settle down. We'll be starting our lesson now. Take out your books and get ready to start writing notes." Oh shut up Mr. Martinez.
