There was one remarkably stingy man. They once said:
- There lives a more stingy man than you in this and that place.
He got up stingy and visited the stranger.
The host invited the guest home, lit a lamp, and introduced the family.
And then, when they sat down to talk, this miserly lamp went out: we could talk about oil in vain, we could talk in the dark.
Indeed, they talked for a long time. Before going to bed, the stingy host turned on the lamp. Seeing that the guest was wearing a robe, he was surprised and asked:
- Why did you take off your clothes?
"Who would have seen me in the dark, and what would I have lied about," replied the guest stingily calmly.
