Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: CULTIVATION WORLD

In order to benefit from this small world, she came into, Alita knew that she had to learn everything she could and understand it. She couldn't be ignored when living in a world she knew nothing of.

At least after she was done reading about the herbs, she was enlightened and even if she were to return home today, her trip will not be in vain. After reading all the books, Alita knew that she didn't have much time and she had not yet come across any cultivation manual which wasn't good for her. She wanted to learn a few fighting skills before she returns home.

However, there was one problem, she had searched through the whole bamboo house and yet she couldn't find anything else. She was a bit stressed and decided to calm herself down and explore further the small world.

One day after two weeks of not finding anything, she was busy fishing when she was suddenly blinded by something from the lake. Alita had never dived into the lake before but as someone who had a thing for shiny things, she couldn't resist.

She wanted to check for herself what that thing was and if possible, bring her back with her. So, with gritted teeth, Alita dived in and swam towards the temptation.

Luckily, she was a good diver and swimmer so not breathing for a while wasn't harmful and if things become a bit complicated, she can still use her shield mecha to save herself.

Alita dived in for like ten minutes before she finally saw that shining item. She scooped the small stone from the bottom of the lake, it was something she had not seen before and she found it interesting.

As she was busy observing it under the covering of the shield, something more astounding happened. She heard a booming sound which scared the hell out of her.

She didn't want to get killed in a place where no one knew she was there but still, her curiosity got the best of her. she looked in the direction of where she heard the sound and witnessed with her own eyes how that rock wall was opening just like that tree she saw in that desolated star.

Last time she trusted her instincts and went into the tree and received a great harvest. This time she was going to do the same thing and go inside there. She had been living here for two years and met no traps, so she didn't believe that she will find one now.

So, Alita swam in that direction and entered the space. She watched with horror as the rock wall closed and she was enveloped with so much darkness it creeped her out.

Remembering her phone, she quickly took it out and switched on the video recording option and the flash of the camera lit the whole place for her. now seeing where she was, she checked every direction until she found a passage hidden in the water.

Alita swam towards the passage and the second she entered the passage she could see dry land ahead so she did her best to reach the dry land. When she finally reached the dry land, she heaved with relief and began to look closely at where she was.

Inside this round room, Alita was staring at three doors. To be honest she didn't know which door to go to as she didn't know what was in those doors. Sometimes it was better to pick one, the other times two or even three.

She looked around more and found writings on the wall and decided to read that first before she can do something that she will regret. When she lit the wall to read the contents, she was greatly confused and sat on the ground to digests it for a while.

[A firm heart can reach the end while a greedy one can only meet doom.]

Alita never understood something so complicated like this and just reading it made her head ache like crazy. Alita was forced to take some grilled fish from her storage space and fill her stomach first.

She tends to think better when her belly was full. Surely with her padded stomach, Alita decided to think outside of the box as deciphering this riddle will only make things worse for her.

She had learned that in life being greedy could make one meet their doom so it was better and encouraged for one to be firm in their choices. If Alita is greedy, she might try to open all doors and get everything from it but what will happen if she were to pick one door?

Alita had never been number one in her entire life especially at school, so she had a thing for that number, however, she knew herself so well, so number one was a no-go.

As for two, the number pisses her off as that will always remind her that someone is above her but three sounds cool. She didn't like it or hate it so she decided to go for number three and see what traps or good things they were in that door.

She placed her hand on the door since she couldn't see any mechanism to open the door. She tried using this way for a very long time but the door wasn't budging, she was about to give up when her finger got pricked and the blood was smeared on the door.

She wasn't given any time to digest what was happening when the door was opened and she was practically pulled inside it. She couldn't scream as no one will hear her or come to her aid even if she tries.

When Alita came to be, she was seated on the ground in the dark which was becoming a thing here. Luckily her phone was working so she lit it up again but this time she wasn't recording anything.

She was afraid that she may provoke some unknown entity and she was very weak to do that. Alita was amazed by the sight inside the room. In front of her was another bookshelf full of books.

At this stage, Alita would have gotten a headache since she was being forced to read but knowing how much knowledge she could get from reading those books, she decided to give them a hand.

She picked her first book and began to read it seriously. Alita didn't know how to get out of here so she decided to be serious and read her books. The books this time were different from the ones she read from the bamboo house. Alita forgot about the time and everything as she was entranced by the book she was reading.

After two years, Alita finally found her first cultivation book. It was a beginner's book and taught her about how to start the path of cultivating. It wasn't easy for her to understand the book as many of the words written there were very foreign and she needed someone to help her explain at least.

But it was unfortunate that she was alone, so no help for her.
