Chloe Turner hugged him, but William Griffith didn't refuse, simply letting her hold him.
However, he had no reaction, remaining calm like a man who wasn't being embraced by a woman.
Chloe hugged him, then tensed up, slowly releasing her grip and looking at him.
"Have you forgotten what my brother said? William, you said you would take care of me for the rest of my life!"
He had said that. When Bob Turner died, he personally told him that if he were asked that question now, he would still promise to take care of Chloe for the rest of her life.
"I will take care of you for the rest of my life, and I won't break my word," he said.
Chloe looked at him, but in his eyes, she couldn't detect any interest a man would have for a woman. He was always so cold towards her, yet they were once people meant to be together for life.
If only Cherish Turner hadn't existed, they would have been together.
