Mother Turner heard the doorbell ring and sighed. She didn't have to guess who it was at this hour.
She nudged her precious daughter and complained, "Hurry up and answer the door!"
Cherish Turner cheerfully replied, "Okay!"
Never before had William Griffith been so nervous and excited at the same time. His son had tipped him off that he might be discussing marriage with Cherish's parents today. That little fool probably couldn't keep a secret in front of his parents!
At the dinner table, there were five people, and only Lewis was eating happily.
Mother Turner wanted to speak several times, but in the end, she nudged her husband instead, "You say it."
"Hmm, it's better if you say it. Don't you usually make the decisions in our family?" Old Turner lowered his head, picked up some food, and had no intention of taking the lead. Saying the wrong thing now could lead to being nagged by his wife.
"Mom, actually..." Cherish Turner wanted to speak, but her mother wouldn't let her.
