Julian Brown had originally planned to fly back to Kyoto in a helicopter, but just before leaving, he was delayed by William Griffith, who insisted on fencing with him.
After several rounds, neither Julian Brown nor William Griffith could claim victory. Sweating profusely, they both sat down on the ground.
Removing their masks, Julian Brown glanced at the hostile-looking William Griffith.
"What's wrong? Who offended you? You seem to be harboring some serious hostility." They had fought like this while they were in Kyoto before, but it was always just a friendly match. Today, William Griffith seemed different.
William Griffith was silent. After venting, he got up to leave, but Julian Brown stopped him —
"Hey, don't tell me you just wanted a fight with me and that's why you wouldn't let me get on the plane! Do I look that idle to you?" Julian Brown was unhappy and held onto William, not letting him leave.
