"I thought you'd forgotten about me since you've been gone for so long and never called or even sent a postcard." Yannis Griffith said heartily, then suddenly turned serious, "Where have you been exactly?"
Cherish Turner smiled and gave a brief answer, "United Kingdom."
"Why did you decide to go to the UK?"
Her reason was just as simple and sincere, "My English is pretty good."
There was a momentary awkward silence. Yannis stared at her, initially full of things to say, but somehow unable to speak at this moment. He tried to find any possible topic, yet realized how things had changed. She was still the same quiet and gentle her, unaltered, but so unfamiliar.
"It's about time, I should get to the company."
"Alright."
As the door was shut, her smiling face still lingered in Yannis's mind, making him feel somewhat at a loss.
