He had always been quiet, and Chloe Turner knew that. But the apple juice in her hand felt a bit sour. In her memory, William Griffith would never touch sweet food. He disdained anything with a hint of sweetness and wouldn't touch it, no matter how much she begged him.
But now, there was juice in his refrigerator.
Chloe sat rigidly for a while, attempting to break the deadlock. "William, your phone broke. Didn't you buy a new one?"
William responded with a silent "hmmm," and exhaled a puff of white smoke.
"How about I go with you to buy one now?" Chloe put down the juice cup on the coffee table and looked at him with a proposal.
"No need," he replied indifferently.
"How can you not need one? It's so inconvenient without a cellphone," Chloe said in surprise. Everyone needed a cellphone in their daily life; nobody would leave home without one these days.
William lowered his head, his gaze deep and still. "It's the same with or without one," he said quietly.
