"...I," William Griffith's voice sounded from the other end of the phone, but suddenly, the line started breaking up, making it unclear. Cherish Turner couldn't make out his actual words, by the time it was clearer, he just mentioned being very busy.
"So, does that mean you can't come?" She almost desperately asked, even she thought that the way she was behaving wasn't good, it felt almost clingy. She didn't like this side of herself.
William was silent on the other end, trying to say something, but Cherish interrupted, "Actually, I've been really busy too, as you know. They've been cracking down hard recently, hehe..." she chuckled dryly, hiding her emotions, Cherish felt her heart growing cold.
