Jun said, "You can finally relax after a long day, so it's not surprising. However, I'll ask you to hold on a bit more."
"Why?" Tetsuya asked.
"I finally got my apartment to look decent, so I'd like to invite everyone to eat dinner there tonight."
I asked, "Didn't your dining room only have four chairs?"
"I'll sit on my desk chair."
Sachiko replied, "Thank you for the invitation, but it'll be easier to eat dinner here tonight since we're already here. We can visit your apartment another day."
Jun crossed his arms and looked at the floor before talking again.
"Okay, but Rie and I will cook."
I frowned. "I never…"
Jun's glance was enough to make me reflect on my words. We had been trying to stop Sachiko from cooking every day for almost a month and I was about to ruin our best opportunity.
I continued, "I never get the chance to cook because Sachiko doesn't let me."
