It was a noisy morning, I woke up to see that once again, the prayer didn't work. I still had no friends. And everyone still bullied me. I don't get why everyone avoids me like I'm a freak or something. I just wanted them to notice that I'm not that bad.
I went into the bathroom, where I kept all my clothes because I didn't have a closet. I put on my regular clothes. They had a white strip on the shoulders and red on the rest of the shirt. The stupid, 'hi, my name is…' tag was still slightly sticking on the shirt from the first day of the year. I stared at my reflection in my cheap toy mirror, my foggy blue and amber eyes stared back at me, as the colors swirled in my eyes. I tore down the mirror from the wall, and stuffed it into my desk drawer, but it always returned to the wall, and it was always by my own hand.
"Damn it," I said, "what is wrong with me?" I had a feeling about what it was, but I just didn't know why. My eyes shimmered.
"New school." I said to myself, "new impression." I wrenched open my drawers and fished out the letter that had the address to my new school. I ripped the envelope and let it float down to the floor.
I opened the door and I slowly walked out of the apartment I had inherited from my parents. I held up my hand to block the sun from hurting my eyes. The door squeaked as I closed it. I then hid the keys under the flower pot like I always did. Children were playing outside in the driveway. They squealed at the sight of me and left their soccer ball behind.
"Hey!" I shouted after them. "You left your soccer ball!"
But they kept running.
I sighed as I pulled out the school's address.
As I walked down the street trying to find my way through to the school, parents stared at me like I was some kind of germ they didn't want.
"What are you staring at kid, just keep trotting on will you?" Barked a shopkeeper.
Everywhere I went people stared with those cold, eyes full of hatred.
I folded my arms.
Finally, I arrived at the new school that I attended. It looked like it had been there for a million years, moss covered the doors, the roof was cracked in many spots where rain could easily wiggle it's way in. But still, it was the only school that accepted him, I had to live with it.
Inside was warmer than outside.
There was also a bunch of shouting inside a classroom.
"I don't want my son to be with this freak!" a woman's voice echoed through the halls. "I want this ******* out of the school now!"
A kinder voice said, "please ma'am, relax, we certainly have to let Azar have a chance in our school."
Azar, that was my name, so that was about me, I thought miserably.
"You know how dangerous this boy can be." The woman's voice again,"He can crush the whole village if he is angry enough!"
"Please do not talk about that when the students are here" Said the other voice. "It's a private matter."
"Fine, but if anything happens to my son, then I'm going to sue this school and have that other boy get kicked out!" Said the woman. With that, the door slammed open and I quickly looked away to not let her see my face. The women had blue eyes, a big pink purse, and a big high hat. She kind of reminded me of a magician.
I poked my head in the classroom.
About 20 students my age sat there staring at the teacher. The teacher, well, was soaked with water, and was acting like everything was normal.
He had bright orange eyes, light brown hair, and he had a scar across his cheek.
"Well, hello Azar, sit." The teacher pointed to a seat next to a person with white hair, and dark blue and red eyes.
I walked over to him.
"As you all know, today you will all be tested for what is your eye element." The teacher said, "But, Azar, you will not because you have way more practice to do." He said, picking his words very carefully.
"Class, let us go to the eye testing room." The teacher said, "Azar, you wait here."
Everyone hurried into a line quietly.
The teacher gave me a cautious look, then left.
That was it, no hi, no new student here.
Like, what the heck? I thought. Just leaving me here to do nothing!?
I walked to the front of the classroom.
There were drawings of eyes on the blackboard.
All of them I didn't recognize upset one, Galatic, the one from legends, the one eye that can control the light. Everyone thinks that the Galatic eye is evil.
On the left side of the classroom, there were jars of parasites and other weird creatures.
1 hour later, the teacher came back in with the students.
"Guess what? I got an eye called 4 Lions!" A kid bragged to his friend.
"Well, I got a Mounennial, I think it controls the earth but mostly mountains." The friend answered back.
"What did you get Achlys!" A girl called out to the guy that I had to sit with.
Achlys just looked away.
"Now now," The teacher said. "You are a one of a kind class! None of you got the same kind of eye."
He looked at me.
"Go to your seat Azar." He said curtly.
Ouch, I thought.
Just then a person slapped me on the head.
I didn't know why but my head slammed onto the floor with a crack.
"Oof" A fat kid said. "I just wanted to test my powers, I guess it's strength." He gave a little frown to me.
Boom, one tenth of a millisecond later he slammed into the wall in the back. Blood trickled down his head.
I turned to face the teacher. He was holding up his hand. His right eye was not orange anymore, it was a kind of beautiful design. Then, it shifted back to normal.
The fat guy slid down to the floor.
All the kids stared.
"If you intend to use your powers without permission, especially to use it against an innocent person you will be like that." The teacher said calmly. "Get to your seat."
All of the class scrabbled to their seats.
Still on the floor I quickly scampered to the seat next to Achlys.
The next few hours of class was trying to use our powers on some indestructible dummy, which I had to sit out for because I had no powers. All of the class basically did nothing because getting the eye to listen to them was difficult. I watched them fail one time after another.
After the whole school was over and everyone left, the teacher pulled me away in his classroom.
"I hope you understand why you can't see your powers," he said.
I just stared at him blankly.
He sighed and said "Because you are not ready and the machines will just say you have no powers. You have to have more training."
I shrugged. "Ok."
"So do you want to start now?" The teacher asked.
"You haven't told me your name." I said squinting at him.
"Oh, umm sorry, it's Professor Tranta ." Professor Tranta said.
"So?" He pressed.
"Sure, I have nothing else to do." I answered.
"Ok," He said. "Touch me"
"Whaat?" I said.
"Just hold my hand!" Professor Tranta said.
"Ok, now that's sus—" I started
"Just hold my shoulder then!" He said.
"Ok" I said, looking away. "Not trying to make it awkward here."
I had to tiptoe to reach his shoulder.
Then his left eye shifted to the cool shape that I wanted to ask but then it seemed like my body was going to tear apart.
Around me colors swirled, we were inside a portal. I saw my body twist and make weird twirles that I was not capable of.
The next second we were in a different place than in the classroom.
It looked like some kind of place where the guy called Kung Fu Panda trained, all mythical and beautiful. Weird creatures like this cross between a pig and a car strood past us.
"Hey buddy." I started to get closer.
"I suggest you not do that." Professor Tranta said quickly.
The pig charged at me.
"Ahhhhhhhh!" I screamed and started running away.
The pig kept on trying to eat me and Professor Tranta just watched.
Finally the pig bit me on the shirt and chucked me to the sky.
"Help meeeeee!" I screamed again.
Professor Tranta sighed and raised his hand towards me.
I slowly levitated to the ground.
"Thanks, but I would be fine even if you didn't help me." I said.
Professor Tranta rolled his eyes. "We are not here to be chased by Poogusts."
"Hey, notice the poo in Poogusts." I said.
Professor Tranta just sighed. "This is going to be a long afternoon."
We only stopped training until night came. And we trained every day after school. Even on the weekends, WEEKENDS!!
At least Professor Tranta doesn't treat me like I'm a slug. But nothing changed with my classmates and the village.
"Azar. . . Azar." said a voice that was so dark that it crept through my spine and turned me into ice. I couldn't see anything, all was black.
I know this was a dream so why am I so scared?
"AZAR!"
I woke up to see Professor Tranta peering at me outside my window. Sitting at the rooftop.
"Yaaaa!!" I screamed. I slid off the bed and hit my butt on the floor.
"Ouch," I said, rubbing my butt. "Did you have to scare me like that?"
"Sorry." Professor Tranta said. "But today you get to test out your umm, left eye…"
"Why not my right?" I asked.
"Cause …just don't ask questions."
"Fine."
Everyone was squeezing into the classroom.
Achlys looked at me.
"Can you move it loser?" He said shortly.
"Jeez, you don't have to push it."
The class laughed.
I rolled my eyes.
"Stupid *******." I muttered under my breath.
"What?" Achlys said threateningly.
"I said your a stup—"
"Azar?" Professor Tranta said. "I told you you have to…"
Then I was pulled into the hall into a boring lecture.
By the time lunch was over and it was break. Professor Tranta pulled me away yet again.
"What is it now?" I said grumply.
"I guess if you wanted we could go and test out your left eye now." Professor Tranta said.
We went to walk half a mile north to a station called Rinwellow, the station had many different designs and weapons.
"So this is where you test your eyes," I said in awe.
Professor Tranta forced a smile.
People were working on designs and blueprints.
Glass suddenly shattered.
"Noah!" A girl's voice cried out.
"Sorry, sorry, I'll clean it up now." Noah said.
I looked over a puddle of what looked like blue liquid was oozing over the floor. The floor was now on fire where the blue water was leaking.
Professor Tranta put his hand on my shoulder.
"We arrived." He said.
A big door was 10 times the size of an adult elephant. Two guards were standing in the doorway.
They looked seriously at Professor Tranta.
"Are you sure you wa—" the guards said.
"Yes" Professor Tranta quickly.
The enormous door opened up with a creak.
I expected a ginormous machine with two little eye holes to check what your eye was, instead it wasn't even a machine! It was a person. There were millions of little designs on the walls of the room. Thousands of pictures and ancient letters.
"Welcome to The Aqitace room" Professor Tranta said.
