Chapter 54 - THE SAMURAI IN NO MAN'S LAND PART 1 (A MOTHER'S CRY)

"After his violent encounter with the mysterious monk assassin, Kiyoshi continues on his way to his new mission. Battered and bruised from the day before he drags himself across an open grass plain.

"What a setback." Shouts Tyrook as Kiyoshi tries his best to make back up the time.

"At least we're alive Tyrook," replied Lilly. "We barely survived that madman." Replied Tyrook annoyed with Lilly's reply. As the two demons argued with each other Kivuli asked Kiyoshi if he believes that the man was dead. The question caused the other two demons to stop arguing and caused a dead silence to fill the air. As they await Kiyoshi's answer.

"Am not sure," replied Kiyoshi breaking the silence. "As I thought so," remarked Kiuvli.

"So we're still being hunted?" Asked Tyrook as they neared their destination.

"For now let's act like we still are until we can confirm otherwise. We can't allow ourselves to be caught off guard again." Kiyoshi responded as he closed in on his destination.

"Ok kiddo, we will follow your lead," replied Tyrook with Kiyoshi nodding his head in agreement.

Moments later they arrived at the outshirks of the town of Treu Verdammt where Kiyoshi's new mission awaits. With the sun setting over the town, the houses begin to light up giving a unique yet ominous glow to them. As the houses lit up in purple, white, and red lights which looked like the town was covered in a mysterious supernatural fog or mist.

"That's strange, I feel an unusual energy suddenly coming from the town. It's similar but yet unknown to me." Kiyoshi thinks to himself as he ventures into the depths of the town to investigate this weird feeling and to find his mission meeting point. As he patrolled the town of Treu Verdammt he looks for a building matching the description of the place he will receive his mission details from.

"A blue house built from wood with white lotus flowers on the fence." Kiyoshi thought to himself. as he looked for such a building. At the same time, he was also trying to figure out the strange energy he felt within the town that drew him in. he entered the busy main street of the town or what was supposed to be a busy main street. Indeed the street was crowded and filled with people but yet somehow it was devoid of life. Most of the town's people look like they were trapped in a zombie-like state aimlessly walking around slowly as their bodies drag about the roadside. With pale skins that lack the color of life in them. Their faces stunk in and worn out with dark circles around their eyes as if they were deprived of decades worth of sleep.

"What happened to the people here? Everyone looks like they all died and came back to life overnight." Remarked Tyrook from within the depths of the sword. Kiyoshi wondered if the strange behavior of the residents of the town had anything to do with the mysterious energy he keeps feeling. Before replying to Tyrook that they should keep looking for the house as Kiyoshi proceeds through the town.

After traversing several side streets later they arrived in front of a blue house made of wood, with a wooden fence filled with paintings of white lotus flowers on it.

"This must be the place", remarked kivuli as Kiyoshi proceeded inside. Inside the house was barren with most rooms either completely empty or with very little stuff or items. With the living room only having an extremely old wooden rocketing chair covered in dust and showing signs of little to no use in years.

Kiyoshi calls out to the occupants of the house advising them of his arrival. Kiyoshi's voice echoes loudly through the mostly empty house before a female voice with a strong german accent responded to him. The person behind the voice told Kiyoshi to follow her voice into the kitchen. There standing at the kitchen sink was a woman in a red dress with white hibiscus flowers on it and a pink apron covering her dress. Her brown shiny hair was pulled back in one with her back turned to Kiyoshi.

She turned to him with a bright yet sorrowful smile on her face. Revealing herself to be a woman in her mid-thirties of Caucasian descent. Her beautiful face was gifted with a pair of sapphire-rich blue eyes. Beautiful and captive as they were they still showed signs of stress and hardship. Even her beautiful face and body were still full of scars and markings. For a brief moment, she reminded Kiyoshi of a biking goddess as she showed a unique and rare blend of beauty and strength.

With two violent shakes of her hands, she shakes the soap water from her hands as she slowly walks towards Kiyoshi.

"Bella", announced the woman as her arm stretched forward to shake Kiyoshi's hand. "You must be the blood samurai? Well if you didn't hear it the first time my name is Bella". The woman remarked as she ushered Kiyoshi to sit by the small dining table with her.

As they sat by the table Bella remarked that Kiyoshi must be wondering why he is there and that it will be best to cut to the chase. Her reason for calling on the assistants of the blood samurai is that she had lost her son.

"A missing person isn't that job for local law enforcement and not a samurai like myself," Koyshi responded as he was confused as to why someone will pay or worst yet risk the chance of being caught by the peacemakers by being associated with him. He knew her son was lost but won't local police be a better fit for the job he thought to himself.

"Local law enforcement would be the best option in most cases but not this time." Remarked Bella with her head down.

"Why not?" Kiyoshi responded. "Because my son is lost inside no man's land," Bella responded with tears flowing down her eyes and a deeply disturbed look on her face.

Kiyoshi eyes open wide and he now understands the seriousness of the mission and why on he could be the one to rescue her son as Bella breaks down in front of him despite for her son's return.
