As the sounds of the breeze filtered past the curtains, Gairett sat down while Tayen stared in amazement.
"What the hell was that all about? Should we not have told him?" Tayen turned to Gairett, with worry stressing the lines around her eyes.
"No, he deserved to know. Even if he's the reason she's here." Gairett looked back at Velori as he spoke. "We have to keep trying. We have to go until we find... something."
"Tell me about it. I don't think I could stop at this point, not without so much as a breadcrumb to follow. There are too many questions."
"Breadcrumbs?" Gairett's face scrunched with confusion.
"Yeah... Hansel and Gretel. You know, the two kids. Lost in the woods. Oh god, never mind. I forgot; you went all recluse on us."
"Recluse?"
"God." She was looking at him with her hand on her hip and her other hand rubbing her face, specifically the spot between her eyes where the headache was forming.
