He carried Velori as fast as he could to the closest hospital. He knew from his talks with Hale that it was the only way he could help her.
What was Hale thinking? Does he want her dead? He berated Hale internally, so he didn't scream in anger.
He was trying his hardest to control his heart from pounding out of his chest and his rate of speed as he dodged around obstacles.
Hopefully these . . . advanced humans will be able to save her and not help kill her instead.
Gairett nearly slammed through the automatic doors when he came up to the hospital. To him, humans were the oddest of creatures. To have things like that made no sense to him, but the doors and his surroundings were just a passing thought as he stormed through the emergency area carrying Velori.
"Excuse me, sir, SIR? You can't just go in there." There was a female in a white jacket running after him, yelling in protest.
"This girl requires help; she needs water, and she needs it now. NOW!" His voice had a sternness, and finality to it that threw the doctor off. He knew even before looking at her that she was a woman of knowledge when it came to the human body. The glare he threw at her, made her spine surge with shivers. Reading her mind again, he could tell that this was one of the advanced 'doctors'. She would be able to help.
"Okay sir, just go back into the waiting room and she will be taken care of."
She wanted to take her away from him, mainly to calm her nerves and make sure Velori was okay, but his own nerves weren't calming, or subsiding at all. He had to make sure that she was taken care of.
"But she needs it now or she will die."
"I understand that sir but there isn't much YOU can do for her." She quickly pulled one of the white empty beds off the wall and pushed it over to them.
"Put her on this and go back into the waiting room to fill out the forms needed, and we will take care of her." She pushed the bed and Velori through two more double doors and down the hall. He was left standing there.
She is right, there is nothing I can do.
Her housekeeper Anne came to mind, and he knew where his next move would have to be. He dashed out the door and flew into the air, going towards Colorado. Ignoring the humans that felt his wind gust by, and the fierce anger he now had for Hale. The only thing he let penetrate his mind was Velori, and getting to her people.
The doctor was pushing Velori down the hall and turning the corner when another doctor nearly ran into the bed.
"OH!" Slipped out of the doctor's mouth, before she could stop it. "I'm sorry; I guess I had my head in other places. What have we here?" She walked up the side of the cot as she absently scanned Velori's body.
"A man came in, carrying her and saying something about her needing water. She's rather pale." Her brows went into a crunch as she was lightly shaking her head in concern. "I couldn't just leave her in the waiting room. I'm worried. The man, he was…" She paused. "…frightening." She glanced over her shoulder as if remembering something. "I was actually on my way out for the night, I have plans, Tayen. Please?" She looked at her with hope in her eyes.
Irritated that they were stalling over a night out against getting the girl help, she responded instantly. "Fine . . ." She took over pushing Velori towards the area she needed and called over her shoulder in aggravation. "But you owe me, AGAIN, Sarah." A quick thanks was all she got before the woman was hurrying away.
When she finally looked down at Velori's face for the first time, she froze. She knew it had been a female from the hair and small body, but she hadn't seen her face. Before allowing herself to think too hard about it, or even hope, Tayen ran with all her might, pushing the bed to the nearest emergency room. Screaming as she rushed around corners, for any nurse around to come and help her.
Whomever this girl was, she was not going to lose her. The growing hate and love for her face didn't matter, only saving her life did.
A young CNA, with blonde curls and too much makeup, rushed out from the break room.
"Another break Becca?" Tayen let out a quick breath of frustration. "Whatever, help me with this!"
As Becca took over pushing, she examined the bite marks. They looked Gargoyle, and if the girl needed water, then it most certainly was one. She would get answers about her and why she looked like Melisa, but first, she needed to help save her.
"Damm your kind, Hale!" Slipped from her lips but not loud enough for Becca to hear.

Gairett was flying towards the estate when something bashed into his side, nearly flinging him to the ground.
After steadying himself, he looked up and saw Hale glaring down at him. Hale had inherited their mother's wings, so they resembled that of a grand eagle, but he was half gargoyle, so mingled within the feathers were his father's wings as well. Small glimpses of iridescent feather-like disks peered out through white feathers. They were around thirteen feet wide and near their base were disks of stone and crystal that were the foundation of his wings and allowed him to pull them in and out, when desired. He was born with a crystal rock that lay across his shoulder blades and traveled to the middle of his spine. It was similar to the shape of a T.
Gairett had once asked his mother what it was, she simply said, "His wings grow, every single time he pulls them out. Without the aid of the plates, it would be very painful for him when he wished to fly."
So there, hovering twenty feet away was a beautiful beast with shimmering iridescent wings that complemented his white hair. And in his eyes, Gairett could see pain, hurt, sorrow . . . and hate.
Although still recovering from the hit to the side, Gairett flew up and slammed his fist into Hale's face. As Hale's head snapped to one side, Gairett could hear thunder in the background and saw a flash of lightning that struck but a few feet from him. Even as a young Gargoyle, Hale could do many things but what he could do now, Gairett didn't know.
Can he use the elements? Like, mother?
Before thinking much further, Gairett's pant legs exploded into small fragments as he allowed his body to morph into its fighting mode. A long green tail with large black marks curled back, like a great snake preparing to strike. His Python form was sleek and long, stretching out to around 30 feet at his longest. At his waist, the large eerie scales shrank to gradually form into a thick armor around Gairett's torso and hard bone morphed from his shoulders. While his face and hair stayed the same, his arms and hands morphed into fierce weapons. His arms lengthened to hang down near where his knees would have been, and his fingers became sharp teethlike claws.
Once more Gairett calculated Hale's height in the air and struck out towards him as fast as lightning but Hale had already moved and in one slick twirl, he grabbed Gairett's long arm, and slung him to the ground once again. Feathers flew in all directions and clung to Hale's hair and skin.
Being only twenty feet in the air, the ground wasn't too far of a fall but before Gairett could get up again, he was being pelted with large rocks that Hale was pulling out of the ground with his thoughts and hand gestures. He was throwing his hands as if he was holding the earth itself and flinging it at him.
Gairett flicked his hand and allowed the ground to swallow him as he retreated from the assault into the soil.
Hale landed on the boulders that were now covering Gairett's last location. He drew in his wings, and they disappeared into his skin with slight clinking sounds as the disks fell back into place.
Hale had white fluffy feathers all around him and drifting to the ground. His shirt had been ripped off when he pulled out his wings and the blood from his back was clinging to him. The small crystal disks and thin plates attached to his back were clear to see as they started to glisten in the rain that he was pulling down from the heavens. It moistened the ground and himself, allowing the many stuck feathers to wash off his skin. Jumping off the rocks, he stood straight, unwittingly showing off his cut muscles and wild hair.
Gairett flew out of the ground and landed in a striking pose, fifteen feet from Hale. His exit from the Earth sent dirt and mud in every direction.
To anyone else they would have looked like two beautiful life-like statues, preparing for war. Not to them. To them, they saw hate and hurt, and they felt pissed. Gairett was covered in mud, from his head to the tip of his tail, and had rain pouring on him. Hale had his hair whipping in the wind and his muscles hardened in preparation for battle, standing in front of the rock mass.
Just then, the statue scene was broken as Hale barreled down on Gairett, his nails that were now talons, spread wide to slash at his face. At the last moment, Gairett struck out and curled his slithering body tightly around Hale, causing his limbs to constrict into himself as he let out a pained scream.
Gairett reached up and twisted a handful of Hale's wet hair around his hand and pulled it back so he could easily scream into his face, letting out all the anger he was feeling. Only now there was something else Gairett could see in Hale's eyes . . . tears. Blood red tears.
Those tears calmed Gairett as nothing else could. "Are you trying to kill me too? HUH? Control yourself, Hale. I do not want to hurt you and I know you do not want to hurt me. So please, calm the fuck down. I have no time for this!" He was screaming the last of that into Hale's face, his anger trying its hardest to rise once more.
"'Ow do you always win? Why does she always choose you first? Why, when I love 'er so much more, would she come back from the dead and find you?"
