A sudden thrill, fear, a rush of dizziness, a sense of falling, anger beyond belief, and at last determination. These were all the things that went through Hale. Some of them were hers, but not the fear. That was all his own. Without a second thought, he dove out of the water and into the air. Instantly his wings spread and the water that was covering him was gone, leaving a trail of droplets in his wake. He was to her before she could even make out where it was, he said he had been. After catching her he went up higher, clutching her to him to feel and know that she was safe. With fear still pounding at him, a rush of something else pushed his fear aside. Anger came back in double time, and Velori could feel it. Like it was her own, she felt it down to the bone.
"WHAT were you thinking? Do you 'ave ANY idea what would 'ave happened if you would 'ave 'it the water?" He clutched her to him again.
