After coming back to his senses, Ken realized that Galatris was looking at him with a strange ganze. He turned towards his protector and asked, "What is it, did I miss something?"
"Oh yes, you did indeed miss something. Your Eternal Einherjar's Talent Evaluation, just like the Knights you've summoned beforehand, his Talent is Tier-G. You just stared in the air for five minutes straight, so I was wondering what your System might have told you that made you so focused on it."
"Don't worry, it's something completely great, but I will explain that in due time."
'System, earlier you mentioned that I can appoint a Supervisor to inspect the souls my Valkyries bring back. Is there a suitable soul among the 200 for this work?'
# Host, there is indeed a suitable soul for this job. Do you wish to inspect him? #
A thunder rang in the sky and a golden lightning bolt shot down from the sky, landing right in front of Ken, bringing forth a monster that he never thought would exist in the world.
# Summoning of 4th Layer Eternal Immortal detected, rewarding 7,400 SP #
In front of Ken floated an ethereal 5-meter tall monster with skin as black as darkness itself, covered in a layer of metallic black scales. Its feet looked as if someone had successfully mixed that of a bird, a reptilian and a human, which led to strong Legs packed adorned with muscles that would make even the statue of a greek god jealous.
The creatures had abbs that were as solid as an Adamantine Wall. Four pairs of arms as thick as stone pillars with sharp nailed claws at each end. Its eyes were bloodred, and its teeth were so sharp that each one could rival the sharpest sword. Its nose had six extra holes at the side, and the purple hair that reaches below its shoulder plates gave it an even eerier appearance.
As if somebody had decided that it had not already been horrifying enough, the monster was covered in an aura of flames and lightning. Dressed in armor like pants and bracers on each arm, a necklace with a striking blue sapphire the size of a human fist around its Neck. That thing looked down to Ken with a raised eyebrow raised, and a smile on his lips which would strike fear in every normal person.
Right at this moment, Galatris in his half-human half-beast form appeared between the two. His aura was at full blast as it locked on to this monster. "What the hell is a freaking Demon-Asura doing here?"
The Demon-Asura was visibly astonished and confused by the situation as well. "I would like to know the answer to that question myself. Just now I fought on the Battlefield of Gratzmoga for Gratak the Cruel against his brother, Margatos the Brutal. Both of them were vying to be the next Clan Lord of the Blood-drinker Clan. Thousands of Immortals have been slaughtered by me to fulfill the ambition of my Master. The name is Rajansam Resemen, Destroyer of Hope, Leader of the 2nd division of the Guratenemas Army. The last thing I recall is that I fell to the hand of Jaksala, High Commander of Margatos' army."
At the end of his speech, a beautiful young female Valkyrie with 6 white-gold Wings came out of the Void and kneeled down.
"Your Majesty, I plead my deepest apologies for arriving this late. I was on my way back with him as he got summoned, but the distance was too great, and your subordinate is too slow to keep up with Your Majesty's Divine Might." The Valkyrie apologized.
"You're forgiven, and as long as you and your sisters do your duty in the future, there is no need to apologize. However, I'm a bit confused, he is someone at the Eternal Immortal Stage and yet you brought him here to serve me? As flattered as I am that you all call me Eternal Emperor, but right now I'm just a Mortal who has not even fully begun his cultivation journey, so how should I convince him to serve me?" Keiren questioned, doing his best to speak slowly to hide the fear the presence of this monstrosity had caused inside him. After all, this was the first being that he had summoned whose appearance alone could make the entirety of humanity's monsters give a run for their money.
"Your Majesty, you are the Eternal Emperor, my Divine Lord. No dead being brought before you would dare to reject the chance to continue living. It's only through your Divine Grace that they have not entered the afterlife, and since we have interfered in the process, their souls would most likely just vanish into oblivion if you stop supporting them… or worse."
The Valkyrie answered. The fluctuations in her tone made it clear that making such a choice seemed unthinkable, if only due to the fear of the consequence. Keiren, Galatris and even Rajansam Resemen felt a freezing shiver travel their spines. For Galatris and Rajansam it was even more potent because they were older, stronger and in every way more experienced than Keiren. The fact that neither one of the Eternal Immortals could feel any shred of aura from the Valkyrie made her even scarier in their eyes.
"Rajansam Resemen, you heard the Valkyrie, do you wish to live a new life as one of my Eternal Einherjar? Right now, I may be merely an ant, but with your help, I will be able to grow stronger in time. As such, I ask you once again, do you wish to become the Commander of my Eternal Einherjar?" Ken asked the giant Asura.
# Detected inferior bloodline density of the own bloodline in the other party, activating bloodline pressure to secure conviction. #
An invisible ripple of power spread out from Ken's heart and the Asura crashed down on all four, kowtowing to Ken, "I shall gladly serve the Eternal Emperor as the Commander of the Eternal Einherjar to the best of my ability and with full heart and soul."
For Rajansam Resemen, Destroyer of Hope, this was one of the easiest decisions of his lifetime. He had no interest in dying for good, not if the opportunity to live on had presented itself right in front of him, the only cost being to exchange one master for another.
The scary woman with the pretty wings and no aura had only cemented his decision to serve this so-called Eternal Emperor. However, what truly made him WANT to swear an oath was the bloodline pressure this kid released. Throughout his life, he had barely had any Asuras, only those who had claimed to have some distant, yet their bloodlines had been dilute and weak. He, on the other hand, was a rare pure-blooded Demon-Asura. At least that is what he had been told, and so far he had never met anyone to prove him different.
Rajansam Resemen had been born free, yet he had grown up in captivity. His 'Master' Gratak the Cruel had raised him as a pet. The Demon-Asura had had no chance but to obey because Gratak had been someone at the Imperial Overlord Stage, a Blood-Demon with an ancient bloodline, backed by the entire Blood-drinker Clan, not to mention a slave array had been imprinted on his back, which had guaranteed that even the simple thought of disobeying any order would make Rajansam experience a living hell.
A small part of him had hungered for Gratak's blood for millenia, as his death would spell his freedom. The man had always been in front of him, but forever out of reach. Fortunately, Rajansam was great at fighting, and the scent of blood and slaughter was as intoxicating as a woman that came willingly, which had allowed him to curb his ambitions. The last century had been the greatest alive, while the two brothers had fought for their succession he had been allowed to slaughter their kin.
While he kowtowed to Keiren Kendrall, the Demon-Asura felt like the proverbial frog in the well. He had always believed himself to be pure-blooded, something he had taken great pride in, but now, faced with the real deal, he realized that his purity was a mere rain drop to Keiren's vast ocean.
"It shall be so," Ken decreed, and another golden lightning bolt shot down from the sky hitting Rajansam Resemen, helping the Demon-Asura construct a new and more suitable body, one that was better in every way possible and perhaps most importantly, one that lacked the slave-array that had been his constant companion since his early years.
Rejansam Resemen was not only alive again, but finally free, able to go wherever he wanted to go. The fact that he now had to listen to the orders of this Emperor? No Problem! He was sure that it would take some time until he would be of any real use to Keiren, so he would have time to explore the surroundings as a free being.
What kind of job would a Mortal have that would require an Eternal Immortal to interfere that couldn't be handled by the bird protector?
