Chereads / Maid To The Prince / Chapter 56 - Chapter 56

Chapter 56 - Chapter 56

Caspian took a deep breath and entered Aurora's chambers, he had a few weeks left. He would spend it with Aurora as much as he could.

She seemed to be out of it and he knew that she had heard the news about him leaving for war.

"You heard the news."

Aurora nodded, her heart hurt even more when she saw him in person and for it to come from his mouth made it all the more real.

"I will be gone for a few days Aurora, I will come back to you without a single scratch."

"You will be in the front line Caspian!"

"I know Aurora but they don't call me the god of war for nothing."

"That does not make me feel any better, I don't know how I to leave without you. You can't die or else I will kill you myself." A tear fell and she could not hold back anymore.

Caspian lifted her and set her on his lap, "I promise you, I will be back soon."

Aurora still cried, even though his words were trying to soothe her, they still didn't work fully. That night they went to bed holding each other tightly.

"Aurora, wake up."

Aurora opened her eyes it was still dark out, "Did something happen?"

"I have prepared everything, you can go to the bathe."

Aurora was confused as to what was going on? She wanted to ask Caspian more questions.

"I have to go sort out a few things, I will be back soon."

Aurora bathed, when she got out they were a few dresses for her to put on. She chose a red gown and was ready to go.

Caspian came back and he smiled when he saw her, "You look more lovelier than ever." He kissed her cheek.

"Let's go." He took her hand and led her outside, there was a carriage. She climbed in and so did Caspian.

They set off and she wondered where they were going? She felt tired as they had woken up early, she leaned into Caspian and he wrapped his arms around her, and drifted to sleep.

Aurora woke up and she felt rested, she wondered where they were going, if Caspian had wanted to tell her he would have done so.

Caspian was asleep, she moved out of his arms slowly careful not to wake him up, she opened the window of the carriage a bit so she could see outside.

It was lovely, she turned to Caspian, and Aurora could not help but to smile. He really was made by the angels.

How blessed she was for him to want her of all the women that he could get. She wonders why he had fallen for her?

The thought of him going to war loomed over her like a cloud, she would not show him that she was worried so they could enjoy this moment before he left.

After some time she heard Caspian yawn, as he sat up. She smiled at him, "How long have I been sleeping?"

"For a while, you looked peaceful."

Caspian smiled at her response, the carriage finally stopped and the door was opened. Caspian stepped out and he held out his hand, she took it as he helped her down the carriage steps.

It was close to nighttime and It was beautiful, there were cottages and the view was amazing.

"Let's sit by the bench as they set up our room."

Aurora nodded, and they went to the bench. She looked at Caspian as he closed his eyes,

"Do I look that handsome?"

"Yes, you do."

Caspian opened his eyes and he lifted an eyebrow at her, the way he was looking at her made her feel hot all over.

He leaned in and kissed her, he pulled back, and Aurora was still in the daydream of his kiss. When they were done fixing their room, they got up to have dinner first.

When they were done, they went to the bathhouse, Caspian removed his shirt, and she felt shy as she took off her dress.

Aurora turned away from Caspian as she removed her unmentionables, why was she shy? They had made love before.

"Why are you turning away from me?"

Aurora blushed some more, "No reason."

"Turn around Aurora, I want to see all of you."

She did turn slowly and Caspian was looking at her in awe, "You are so beautiful."

They got inside the bath, and she welcomed the hot water as she was sore from the carriage ride. Caspian also appreciated the water.

When they were done bathing, they lay in bed listening to the night sounds of the crickets. The silence was not awkward but it made them cherish this moment even more.

The next morning they woke up and they spent the whole day together, when it was sunset, Caspian took her hand and made their way to their next destination.

When they arrived she could not believe her eyes, it was so beautiful that she could not believe the scene in front of her.

There was sand, they sat down and the sun gave a beautiful glow.

"I will savor this moment forever." And Aurora meant every word.

"Me too, I have something for you."

Aurora watched as Caspian took out a ring from his pocket and placed it on her finger, "Every time you see this ring you can think of and I will be counting the days when we reunite again."

Aurora was touched by his words, "I love you."

Caspian's eyes widened as he heard the words that came from her mouth, it seemed as if he was trying to process what she had just said.

When he had fully processed what she had said, he pulled her into his arms and held her tightly. He pulled back and kissed her with all the passion he had.

"I love you Aurora, I couldn't be more happier than I am right now. Let's make a vow."

"What kind of vow?"

"We can make it up as we go, I will start, our love is forever."

Aurora said the first thing that came to mind, "Nothing can ever separate us."

"If you go anywhere I will find you wherever you are."

"Death is not the end, we will meet in the next life."

Caspian smiled, he pulled her into his arms and they watched the sun.

After a week of spending time together and in bliss, they blocked out all the problems they had to face and they focused on one another.

They were now heading back and the somber feeling, their fairy tale had ended, when they got to the castle they got out of the cottage.

One of the servants came up to them, "My Lord, your father, and mother want to see you urgently."

Caspian nodded, "Aurora go rest, I will see you later."

"Okay."

Caspian made his way, he knew that he was in serious trouble. He had left abruptly without telling anyone as he knew that they would have stopped him.

He got in and His father, mother, and Nadia were all in the room.

"You called for me."

"What has gotten into you Caspian!" his father voice boomed.

"Where did you go? And with a lowly concubine at that." His mother added.

"Am I not allowed to be in love."

"You are allowed to be in love and you need to remember that you are supposed to be supporting Nadia and not neglecting her." His father responded harshly.

"You are bringing disgrace to this family." His mother added.

"You are leaving for war soon and you need to be comforting your wife and not a concubine. Word spreads rapidly around in this palace." His mother carried on.

"Are you done?"

"What do you have to say to Nadia? You have not even acknowledged her at all." His father replied.

"I shall take Nadia for a walk."

"That is better, you have to make it up to her. She was very worried about you." His mother replied.

"The least you could have done was to tell her where you were headed to. Rather than all of us finding out through the servants." His father replied roughly.

"I apologize but you would not have allowed me to leave if you knew."

"This concubine has really messed you up." His mother added.

"We already had this conversation before." Caspian turned to Nadia, "Shall we."

"Of course Sire."
