Chapter eleven
Lilly POV
The sound of the ringing phone pulled my attention zas I stopped pacing, and sighed frustratingly, before walking over to the bed lazily. If that jerk is the one calling, he better get this straight, and that's the fact that I'm not coming to meet him anywhere, if he needs his phone, he can schedule to get it in another place, but definitely not in the restaurant, nor here.
Walking over to the bed, I reached out to the phone lazily, and without bothering to check who the caller is, as I already concluded that it must be him, I swiped the answer button with an eye roll, before holding it to my ear, waiting for him to say whatever rubbish he want to say.
"Lucifer." Came the masculine voice from the other end, and I froze in my spot. I batted my lashes, to be sure I wasn't hallucinating, and when I opened my eyes, I found out that it was damn reality. His word echoed in my head, as I just processed the name I just heard, as in Lucifer? Isn't that a devil's name? Wait! Did I hear right?
I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I slowly brought the phone down from my ear, and staggered back. What! Don't tell me I ran into a devil..., don't tell me it's what I'm thinking.
"What's wrong Lilly?" Nina's worried voice came on, jolting me back to reality, and tilting my head to look at her, I gave her a weak smile, as I shook my head negatively. I can't possibly tell her what I just heard, right? What if she thinks that I'm weird? What if she concludes that I've start hallucinating?
The phone came ringing again, but this time, it had my number, displaying on the screen, but I was just too scared to pick it up, as I kept staring at the screen, and soon, the call ended.
Letting out a sigh, I let my weight down the bed, and threw my head back, as too many questions came conflicting on my mind. Can my day get any better? Everything that happened today, was just like a nightmare, it happened so fast, and I just couldn't wait for the day to finally be over. Who knows what I'll still have to face before going to bed tonight.
After what seemed like forever, the phone beeped, and hesitantly, I reached out to it, and slid the unlock button, as a message came popping on the screen, having my phone number as the sender.
"I'm in front of your dorm, come out, now!" I read the test, and froze on my spot, as the phone fell from my hand, and crashed on the floor. Now I'm more scared, how the heck did he locate my whereabout? How did he know where I live? Am I no more safe here?
"Don't spoil the phone Lilly, you know we have no money to pay for it." Nina warned.
Gulping down the lump in my throat, I slowly bent down, and picked up the phone, but almost screamed in terror, as I found the screen cracked. Now I'm in for some deep shit.
Reading through the text again, I jus couldn't help concluding that he's a dangerous man, it's so obvious in the text, and the thought of him, being Lucifer truly, makes me cringe, as fear gripped me. What if he kill me? What if he decides to hurt me, for keeping him waiting? I don't want to die, at least not now, I still have family to take care of, my younger siblings are waiting for me to come back home, and sponsor them to school, dying now, is the last thing on my mind.
Walking over to the door, I opened it and stormed out of the room, ignoring Nina, who kept calling my name, asking where I was going.
Walking through the hallway, too many things came rushing through my mind, but I made up my mind to just give him his phone, take mine from him, and then we're done, but then, I don't trust my level of curiosity enough.
Stepping out of the dorm, I found him, standing beside a different black car, from the one he came to the restaurant with earlier, and I just couldn't help concluding that he must really be a wealthy dude, I mean, it's very obvious. His dress ks different from the one I saw him on earlier, but it's still black anyways, and I just couldn't stopped wondering if black is his favorite color, but that shouldn't be any of my business, right?
Walking over to him, I tried as much as to maintain a straight face, and not let my nervousness, get the best of me, and somehow, I managed to. I finally got to his front, and without saying a word to him, I stretched out his phone to him, while waiting for him to take it and give me mine.
My hand was already hurting, as there wasn't any sign of him, taking the phone anytime soon. Raising my head to look at him, I found him looking down at me, with an unreadable expression on his face, and I bet his eyes flickered red. What the heck is going on now? Is this dude some witch or something?
"Hey! My hand is already hurting, can you take it already?" I said, getting pissed already. Whichever feelings of fear I've been having, slowly disappeared, as a strong wave of boldness, spread through me. I tried getting a hold of where the sudden boldness came from, but I couldn't wrap my head around it, so I just let it go.
"You expect me to take it from you, just like that? You stole my phone, how dare you!" He said calmly, but his voice full of tension, and I tilted my head sideways, while letting out a scoff. Wait! Did he just called me a thief? As in, he just called me a thief?
"Hey! Don't call me that you jerk! I am not a thief. I don't know how our phones got switched, I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything, but still can't seem to come up with anything. You have no right, whatsoever, to call me that, I won't tolerate you, coming here to insult me!" I snapped at him angrily, while giving him a deadly glare, with anger, burning inside me. If he don't stop getting on my nerves, I don't care what will happen, but I'll sure teach him a lesson right here.
"Really? Are you making me feel like a liar here? I should've known better, a thief is sure guaranteed to be a liar too, and who knows, a touch of bitch won't be a big dea..." His words were cut in his mouth, as a I sent a hot slap across his face. How dare he call me those names!...
