Chapter 5 - Aliens?

Liz was watching my every move as if making sure I would close a single eye.

"sigh"

I guess she knows me too well

I thought I could slip a few extra minutes but I guess my chances are slim...

I got out of bed and put my blue and yellow jumpsuit on.

it was a blue jumpsuit with yellow zig zag lines that went along the side of my legs and up my waist till it reached the collar.

along the top of the shin guards, shoulders, knees, elbows and knuckles there were silver lines to highlight the gear and protective pads.

"ugh, I miss my hoodie.."

Liz and Andrew also had the same uniform for

these are the colours that the Adventurers in military wear to remind the average person to be reminded of our achievement and the honor of helping humanity with keeping everyone safe from the so called "Outsiders" that we study or worst case scenario have to fight them if all goes wrong.

but that is exactly what Adventurers train for

when I say Outsiders i mean Aliens obviously.

most people just got too freaked out when saying the word ALIENS when we first discovered we weren't alone in the universe that they just became known as the Outsiders because....well it just made people be more at ease.

even most of those alien space nerds started to get scared when seeing the first footage taken by satellites, most were intimidating.

But what I find interesting is that not all footage taken was of the same race, as a matter of fact there are so many different races recorded that it was hard to count individually, but for a future space Adventurer as myself I can easily tell you it's precisely 1435 different highly intelligent Alien races, and 20956 creatures discovered on different planets by both satellites and Adventurers.

the problem was that fifty percent of the "intelligent" species had the same broad, tall, dark and overwhelming look to them all.

they mostly looked like some humanoid shadowy figured carrying spears and guns with energy core technology.

At the same time humanity was too scared (cowardice in my opinion) to communicate, as the military and found it too dangerous to expose themselves to the unknown and studied them from afar hoping that they won't be discovered anytime soon as scientists are looking for weaknesses and ways to advance the technology we have today in case of any unexpected turns of events if we get discovered.

as I got ready, Liz walked out of the bedroom noticing that I finally got up she had nothing to worry about me falling back to sleep.

as I put my hair in the usual perfect bun and grabbed my luggage and as I heard movement in the other room and just assumed she was making some breakfast.

and honestly I wouldn't be surprised considering her determination, to be there on her bed across mine just staring at me with bloodshot eyes for hours waiting for my lazy but to get up so she probably didn't want to lose sight of me (even though the people who know me well enough know I wouldn't have been anywhere but my bed if I had the chance).

"knock" "knock" "knock"

"hey Cel can you get it? I'm making some food for the ride there! I bet ya it's Andrew, hopefully he slept better than us haha "snort"

"yep! I'm coming."

opening up the door I was greeted with a tall young man with tan skin and dark hair giving me big smirk with exited eyes.

"hey, you got ready before I got here! gotta say I'm impressed". Andrew said in a teasing tone

"HEY! I thought we had agreed on not making fun of my need for constant sleep!"

"well I think it's too late for that Cel phff" mumbled Liz in the kitchen.

"I heard that"

"anyway, Are you guys ready? it's about time we leave" said Andrew as he started bringing out the luggage

"yeah I'm all set, just waiting for this slow pok-"

and just as I go to make fun of Liz, I see her with all her stuff on ready for take off.

...well that was to be expected..

"well?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS WAITING FOR!

"LET'S GOO!" yelled Liz
