The tension in the boardroom was nothing compared to what Ava was used to. She has attended many meetings with ruthless people, arrogant men, and women who think they owned the world. And it hadn't been this worse.
She could see that Brenda had been clueless as she has been when her father told her about the merge. But at least back then, she was just with her mother and her father alone.
Glancing from Belinda to Brenda, she could see the dead glare coming from Brenda. Brenda didn't know. And her father and Belinda had ambushed her. Ava wondered how long it was going to take for Brenda to slam the table.
One minute, two minutes. But nothing.
It shocked her, she thought Brenda would throw tantrums.
Ava half-listened to Belinda, as she thought about what to tell Brenda so she could believe her that she had no idea what was planning till a few days ago.
