He looked at me , up and down through the corner of his eye. But he didn't greet me.
"Mom, how are you?"
"Fine, and with you honey?"
"Yeah, it's not that bad" and I heard him ask who I was.
"An assistant of mine" said Mrs. Hellen, wait did she just lie?
He was not impressed. Looks like he already had someone. Or am I really that ugly? Mary, I did not agree to her request to be with her son. I don't think she will accept that either.
"Ma, you're not going to leave her here like the others, are you?"
"Son, I don't need any help around the house anymore and this one is a good home worker. She has worked for me for 4 years. And I have never regretted taking her as my cleaning lady!"
"Okay, Mother!" he gave to his mother in disappointment, because he could not persuade her.
Later that day I signed a 2 year contract with him. The contract said I could go to school at the expense of Mrs. Hellen and her son. Mrs. Hellen was unable to support me financially due to personal reasons, so her son had to pay for me .
....Working for Mister Travis.....
On May 5, I started working for Mr. Travis. Well... looks like I wasn't the only one who's work there as a maid. I was just lucky that he and Mrs. Hellen were going to pay for the school for me. There were also 3 other maids staying here. Really know why they looked at me so horribly. That one, I forgot her name, her name starts with a P. She had to make sure that everything we do , is done well.
Each week someone had a turn to cook, wash clothes and barrels, clean Mr. Travis's room and other rooms.
Ooh yes ..I remember now, her name is Pearl. Gosh I'm really jealous of her, she's so perfect at everything she does. Yes, although I've been here for 2 days, I noticed that right away. Today is my first day and it's my turn to cook and clean the bathrooms and toilets all week. Pearl also cleans Mr. Travis's room all week. Everyone does something different for a whole week.
I went to the bathroom to clean it. The bathroom is not far from Mr. Travis's room. Suddenly I heard someone moan.
"Ahh"
"No"
"Hmm"
"Ahh." I thought I wasn't hearing properly...maybe it was the TV or something...or was he watching that what certain people are watching.
And then I heard it again. I then went back to call one of the girls, Jovania.
"Hey girl, I hear something on that side"
"What?"
"Well I don't know, looks like the noise is coming from mister's room."
Jovania didn't look shocked or surprised when I told her. She just said:
"Listen, pretend you didn't hear anything and don't tell anyone."
"Why? I want to know if-"
"Then go have a look and don't come and tell me rubbish" Jovania shouted at me
Wow, she is so rude. I decided to open the door and see what was going on. And who did I see there? Pearl. Taking advantage of Mr Travis. He wasn't even aware or was he, i wouldn't know. Maybe he liked it. I saw how they raged. And how Pearl jumped like a deer or rode like a horse on Mr. Travis.
"Who's there?" I hear Pearl's witchy voice.
Oops, she's saw me
"Where?" I heard Mister Travis asking, "don't stop go on, she might take a class" he said after.
To me he said: "You stay right there"
Ugh, those bastards. I should have listened to Jovania.
