I packed some things up for us to use with the plastic bags and planned on our next move. I look at kotta who was sleeping peacefully.
(he's brave and smart also strong at such a young age, if I were like him before would've my mother stayed with us?) I thought as I brush my hair up with my hands.
(I shouldn't think about the past, right now what's important is the present) I thought of going to a clothing store for clothes and bags to use in case of emergency but it's too risky since we don't have any weapons and the clothing stores here are what people usually go to. I checked on my phone to look at the maps but seems like my phone is almost out of battery, I wonder if there's any electricity. I then remembered the nearest weapon store that owari always go to, she likes collecting different types of weapons, even though she never use one.
It was getting dark outside so it's time for us to leave, I grabbed kotta and we made a run for it. We manage to get half way there without attracting any attention, looks like luck was on our side.
No, luck was NOT in our side, I spoke too soon. There was a lot of zombies in our way making it hard for us to move, we have attracted multiple of them but we luckily killed tjem using the mop I broke in the staff room making it a weapon but it won't last for long. I looked around to see a short cut for us to go through without having to fight all of this shit. I was so distracted with my thoughts I for about fighting I almost got bit but thankfully kotta snapped me out of it. I focused on the battle and waited for the right opportunity. Suddenly kotta tugged my shirt indicating he have an idea, he the looked at the store nearby. He points at the fire extinguisher. I realized what he meant and tried to hold off the zombies.
"There,Run!" He run towards the shop and went inside,after a couple of seconds he comes back with the fire extinguisher, He pulled the pin and points it at the direction of the zombie. He then gave me a signal which I take as duck, when a white foam comes out I duck.
(That was a close call) I thought as I crawled to kotta. When the fire extinguisher ran out we made a run for it. We then made it to a clothing store, I realized we were in the wrong store, The weapon store was right next to this.
(Not that I'm complaining) I looked around seeing if there's a zombie somewhere, I walked slowly and quietly. I was almost done looking around until I heard something, I walked slowly towards the noises. It was in the counter, I peeked at it carefully hoping it won't notice me whatever it was.
I stared at it with shocked face. (I expected this but I didn't thought there would be anything like this since the apocalypse only started) It was a mutant. I've seen them multiple times in mangas and movies but seeing it in real life was terrifying and cool at the same time.
(We don't even have weapons and I'm with a kid! Does god hated me this much?!) I thought, The best choice right now is carefully get away from here and look for a better weapon first then fight this. I backed up immediately and slowly making my way carefully, I was NOT taking my eyes off of this thing that I didn't realize something was in front of me.
"Ow!-"I covered my mouth in shock looking slowly at the mutant hoping it didn't heard me, It but when I looked at it.
(It's...blind?) Maybe I do have a chance killing this, I mean we can't go out since there's a hordes of zombies out there. While it was looking around I slowly made my way near it holding theroken mop we used.
(I know this won't be enough but I don't have any choice) once I'm close enough I stabbed it in the head but Missed instead it hit it's shoulder.(Fuck..!) I took the mop out but it's stuck, I backed up and looked somewhere else.( There! that should do) I carefully took the broken wire which has electricity in it and throws it at the mutant.
I signed in relief as it fainted after the electricity runs out and so did the lights.
(Welk at least we're safe) I thought, I went to look for kotta. I saw him the entrance rubbing his eyes.
"What's wrong kotta?"
"I fell asleep and then the lights went out so I was wondering why." He said tired.
(He was asleep...?)

After changing clothes and taking some just incase, I stumbled upon an idea of covering our neck and arms with a thick cloths so we wouldn't get bitten easily. I'm currently wearing black turtleneck,a buggy pants so I can run easily, and a long black coat meanwhile kotta wearing a dark green t-shirt and some shorts, simple but with his handsome face he looks like a model and why dark colors? Because blood wouldn't be obvious once it's stained. We rested for a few moments till the zombies outside lose interest on us. Once most of them are gone we decided to carefully move to the next store, The weapon store. We went inside and oh boy we were surprised by a buch of zombies, good thing kotta hit the zombie in the front before I can even react.
(Wow, that's one fast reaction) Once we got rid of them we looked for stuffs we could use.
I took some daggers and 2 guns along with some bullets, and kotta took.. A double sword?

(Why would he take that? Most people would choose guns instead)
"Hey kotta, why did you choose a double sword? Can't you just take a gun it's much more safer" I said
"I was taught how to use sword by my uncle whose a sword teacher and I don't know how to use guns" he responded

After we took everything we needed we were planning on moving to a more safer area then-
