Chapter 1 - Prologue

Thousands of years ago, after the great war, the world was divided into seven empires.

Thurdend, which was the land of fairies and aries and all other small flying beings. Ressforth, the land of vampires. Silka, the land of werewolves and lycans. Landaus, the land of trolls and giants. Anaria, the land of witches, sorcerers, switchers and creatures that had no form. Then there was Rocenko, the land of humans and the last dragons. And finally Rhodes, the land of demons and descendants of the fallen angels.

All these empires were ruled by their respective kings and all the kings were governed by a society known as the Zygon.

The king of the demons, Royall Estargon, was the first king that refused to listen to the Zygon and ruled his kingdom his own way.

With time, ruling a kingdom became too little for him and he wanted the whole world beneath his feet. The Zygon became a thing of the past and most of the other empires feared the king of Rhodes. He destroyed towns and villages and killed anyone who refused to bow before him.

Many were afraid that this would cause another war, greater than the first war that even the people of the land of the dead were involved in.

In order to not cause history to repeat itself, the gods made a decision to create powerful beings and transfer half their powers into all of them, they would be called the stars and the gifted.

The path that Latitia walked on was covered in dead leaves that were unusually black. The trees around the forest looked dead but were still covered in the same black leaves as the ones she stepped on. When the wind swirled, it knocked down the remaining leaves on the trees leaving them looking like they were naked. As she walked ahead she noticed that there was a river which was murky to look at. Latitia felt overwhelmed by the sadness of the place she was in. She was in the land of the dead, but she wasn't dead. All of her kind had died in the great war and she had been the only survivor, the last guardian angel.

As she approached the river she noticed a ripple in the water as it came forward and then went back. Looking up she saw a light far into the river which disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Then a voice came

"The living in the land of the dead."

Latitia went forward to look for the source of the voice and a boat popped up from underneath the river, inside it was a creature of some sort. The creature was made of bones and was wearing a hooded robe.

"Where are your coins?" It asked Latitia, stretching out its bony hand.

Recognizing it as the 4th sin, Rower, she was quick to shake her head and step back a little bit.

"I'm not dead, yet."

The 4th sin looked at her for a minute, as if he was trying to see through her.

"That I am aware of. What do you then seek in the land of the dead if you desire not to cross the river?"

"I am a guardian angel, the last of my kind. I was called here by the moon goddess, fair lady Sabrina." Latitia answered, surprising herself with her bravery.

"A guardian angel in the land of the dead. How rare, how rare." As he spoke a burst of light sped through from the sky and landed next to Latitia, scaring her.

"Do not fear Latitia, for it is only but I."

Latitia turned to look at the light and immediately went on her knees, bowing before it.

"Moon goddess, what brings you here." Came the voice of the 4th sin

"The gods have chosen you both to be the bearer of the stars."

"The stars?" latitia questioned

"Yes, the stars. They are beings that would save the world from a second war." The moon goddess replied.

"Why have I been chosen to be a bearer of the stars you speak of? Are they to live in the land of the dead?" The 4th sin's voice came again.

"You would live in the land of the living with the stars."

"Your gods must have made a mistake, because I cannot leave the land of the dead nor can I live with irony of myself."

"The gods can never make a mistake," Shifting her gaze to Latitia, she smiled at her. With all her heart Latitia smiled back, agreeing silently to do whatever the goddess wanted. "Danvon, 4th sin," She said "You would never harm your own child."
