Chapter 26 - 23- Unexpected ivy-nts

(A.N. Sorry if you find this last chapters boring but they are necessary for the war preparations/plot development)

It came out of nowhere.

One moment I was trying to think about new spells the other there I got hit by a boat .

I don't quite know what happened but the lizardmen that live on some of the other islands started throwing boats at me.

This boat didn't even have people or explosives on them... They where just boats.

"Hey Ashtar."

*flap*

"What kid?"

"Wat are they doing?"

"Hmm... I think they are trying to declare war on you? I'm not too sure."

"You don't know?"

"*shrugs*

They are basically telling you they're going to attack you so... Thats pretty much a declaration of war in my book."

"Hmmm....killing will probably leave a bad taste in my mouth. "

"You'd probably be able to win quite easily honestly....in fact this might even be a good thing for you, you know?

Also you have neither taste buds nor mouth. "

"How so?"

"Well you'll have to kill intelligent beings later on anyway, so why not start with one's that have Ill intent against you?

Besides they just decided to attack you without neither trying to negotiate nor even investigate you didn't they? They can't br all that intelligent. "

Its not a bad idea, even if killing does leave a bad aftertaste... It's not like I'll feel that strong of an emotion shock.

I've already seen multiple times that ever since I've come back my compassion for others is on a all time low.... In fact more often than not the reason I avoid fight is because of fear for my own life.

*looks into the distance *

It's impossible to hit the fishes... At least with my current skills and evolution stage.

*looks at boats*

If I kill the lizards and conquer the rest of the islands I'll be :

1)conquering land

2)defending conquered land

3)experiencing a war

Among other things.

It all lines up with my evolution path until now... so it really is a good opportunity.

"Besides kiddo. *puipuipipipi* it's not like you can just uproot yourself and run away.

Your roots are stuck to deaply into the island for that."

"Your right, I should probably prepare."

"*Smirks* You should. *flap*"

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_(Ashtar's POV) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

The kid is going to war already...

It took less time than expected. Was the guy I killed someone important to the village?

Well it doesn't really matter though.

It's good all the same. The Parmian desert is a holy land for all Parmians out there and it's been filled by those pests for years.

Humanoids are walking eyes and hears of the gods so I can't have them sneaking around our land .

When I was younger I could just kill them but now?

Tch...

Well whatever.

"Hey kid."

"Hmmm?"

He really likes getting lost on his own thoughts doesn't he? I guess that because he's a plant...

"As you probably know I won't be joining you."

Can't have such a good learning experience go to waste just because of my own feeling after all.

"But seeing the numerical disvantage I won't just let you go at it without telling you about your enemies first."

"Thanks."

"You see unlike us Parmians that have the ability to evolve the 'superior races' can't. They also can't use the environment mana to cast magic."

"Why are they called superior races then?"

"Good question.

Honest answer? Racist fucks.

The answer you want? Well there's three reasons really.

1)They have limited control over every mana type so it's not like they need to unlock mana types.

It usually depends on something they call magic affinity.

1)They have limited control over every mana type so it's not like they need to unlock mana types.

It usually depends on something they call magic affinity.

2)They are born with a conscience, unlike us parmians that have to evolve at least 3 times.

Did you see how big of an advantage you have by being able to chose your development path? Well let's just say that usually doesn't happen with the rest of us.

3)They have faith. "

" Faith? "

" Faith is hard to explain just know that every superior race member as a little bit of it and certain priests have a whole lot more of it.

You won't be facing any tough so there's no need for me to confuse you with the extra info. "

"Alright."

Hmmm...he let his guard down.

He probably only paid attention to the fact they have a limited amount of mana unlike Hina and that they aren't capable of evolving.

*sigh*He's not wrong to look down upon those 'lasy races', individualy they're weak... The issue is when they aren't alone.

Whatever let's just leave, he'll learn from he's mistakes.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_(MC's POV) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Ashtar probably thinks I let my guard down... But that not true, I used to be a human so I know how scary beings like them can be.

Because of their high fertility + natural born intellect they can pass down knowledge that can be learned by their children.

Because of 'affinities' something like selective breading is probably a things... just like arranged marriages back on middle ages.

Hell, the fact that they can live on this islands right next to a spider that nearly killed is a dead give away that something is wrong.

Its not that I let my guard down... I just dont think they stand a chance.

During the last months I've both learned spells for ranged combat and support, both of which are useful in a war. It's like logistics and artillery.

The lizard-kind only started preparing for war now... Me? I'm always prepared for war, it's in my class.

There's no need for me to take the defensive... I'm going to do what a 'offensive ballistic' cactus does best.

Blow shit up from afar.
