Chapter 19 - 17- Lettuce all evolve

(A. N. I'M RUNNING OUT OF RELEVANT PUNSSSSS)

"OK, so a few million years ago the -#&€&€- decided they were tired of -reincarnating- and that they wanted to either -#&€&€- or live forever."

From contex the first -#&€&€- must be some kind of group, specie or an individual's title , I don't know about the second one.

"They also figured out that those that -#&€&€- to the higher -realm- were no more than slaves to the -#&€&€- which naturally pissed them off. *puipuipipipi*"

Ascended and... Gods? Maybe? Or at least a group of people.

"As such they decided to make a system, this system amassed all the knowledge and skill of one's progenitor in order to allow them to..."

"Trace a progenitor steps? Follow the beaten path? Well anyway, it made it easier for us to survive and strengthen ourselves."

"A bit lazy not going to lie, but given the circumstances, it was their best shot."

From what I got until now, a certain group of individuals decided that they where tired of reincarnating... Which I kind of get, after all what's the point of living if your just going to forget everything afterwards.

In order to stop reincarnating, they decided that they would either ascend or become immortal.

It's understandable that I didn't understand ascend, because I didn't experience it unlike reincarnation.

Somewhere along the line this group created the system in order to.. Save their inslaved companions?.. Maybe they just wanted to rebel, I need more info.

I wish I could speak, right now.

"So, I understand that you probably didn't understand the core of what I just said, but I presume that you at least understood the part where the system was man-made right?"

Weird, he can read surface thoughts and emotions , shouldn't he have figured out at least that I'm understanding him?

Hmmm... There's something fishy here, maybe he can't read my thoughts related to reincarnation?

He did say he can only forcefully understand the words because of his power not because he experienced it.

"OK, I'll take that as an yes. So, as you can see the system is man-made and because of that not everything is.... Operational."

"The magic used in its creation was, junky, to say the least *puipuipipipi*."

"This cause flaws in the system, skill's description can have mistakes, misinterpretations by the original skill holder."

"And due to the fact that the system was made to allow one to follow the beaten path... 'new' paths don't exist in the system."

"They have to be discovered and added to it."

"The naming system was also added later on to the system together with other things by powerful system users."

"That feather I just gave you is a example of what I'm saying, before I came along there was no possible evolutions where wrens evolved golden feathers."

"And.... I'll be teaching you how to do the same thing, the cactus version of course.... we don't want you growing feathers *puipuipipipi*. "

Why? Are these evolutions better?

"Not necessarily, what they are though... Is more in sinc with your accomplishments."

"You've both parasited someone strong and got ahold of an spot for yourself, while its not like it never happened before, it's still undoubtedly rarer than accomplishing just one thing."

"'parasite' classes are usually weak, fight-wise that is, so they can't just go around fighting people."

"If they manage to hunt someone strong, why go search for a place to live when you can just evolve into a 'necrofiliac hunter' ?."

"If they don't manage to hunt a strong monster they'll but get a house, they'll probably become a 'independent' and afterwards evolve into a fortress."

"Those that can't do either of those will just roam around, 'Parasiting' off of small game in order to survive, eventually either flying of age or becoming a 'hive-mind'."

Those where the 3 options I was going for.

"There's other options but they usually follow this theme."

"We might not know each other for long nor can you... Well speak, but I do believe I have a certain understanding of your way of both living and, after today, fighting ."

"And I can assure you, you'll not like any of the choices the system will give you once you reach a higher evolution."

"So few people evolve to that point, you'll won't have any evolutions to chose from."

I see, the higher the evolutions, the lower the variety and freadom of choise of evolutions.

"That's why instead of evolving following your system, I'll be teaching you how to evolve following your instincts."

"Your instincting may be a little broken, but I assure you that even broken instincts are better than the system evolutions."

Hmm....this a bit of a gamble, at least with the system I know what I'm evolving into, if I follow my instincts and end up evolving into something bad.

I'll probably just die to someone stronger than me.

What about the magic, how does it affect my mana?

"Unknown."

Hmm!?

"*puipuipipip* No one knows kid, if your lucky you'd might evolve into a 'magician' variant and unlock 2 different Mana instead of one..."

"If your unlucky you'll gain 0."

"Just know that you don't have anything to lose regardless of what you chose to do, there is no such a thing as a 'Bad' evolution."

"If it was bad for you , it wouldn't be a evolution... Oh, do know, while there is no 'bad evolutions, there are 'better' ones so..."

Hmmm... I need to think this through a little before I make a choice.

It's between security and ambitions.

If I chose the system I'll have the assurance that I'm following a good path.

But if I chose my instincts there's a chance I'll hit the jackpot.

Feels like the night I died all over again.
