The sandstorm was wild but thankfully short.
I felt the sand beneath me, give away to empty air. A few of my roots got forcefully pulled out by the wind and other broken by the sand.
At some point I was flowting in the air, only anchored by the roots I had around my 'parent' stem and by the ones I had inside him.
Even those, started giving away , luckily, that happened when the sandstorm was at its end and I was not fully dislodged.
Even so, I ended up more than 2 m away from my 'parent' with most of my underground roots pulled out and my cuticles filled with small holes caused by the high-speed sand.
The only connection I still had with my 'parent' , was my sole surviving root coming out of his left side, said root was the only thing I had feeding me the much needed nutrients and water.
Much needed, for now that I have suffered such grievous injuries, I would need them more than ever, in order to heal.
Hmmm.... What should I do?
My situation was precautious, soon the extra water which we cactus usually keep in our steam is going to end.
For now I'll see my status and see if anything changed.

1)focused omnidirectional vision ( lvl 3) (ability to see a focused range of 30° on any chosen direction) > 1)none> Nice, a new resistance, and blunt resistance at that? That's will be useful for the future... If I don't die first, that is. Hmm.... my instinct is flaring up, I feel like I unlocked some evolutions. <[unlocked] evolution: 1)independent small sand cactus 2)independent small wind cactus > I guess my new body assumes that only being connected to my 'parent' by a single root is enough for me to be considered 'independent'. I would normally take it, after all, due to my current predicament, there is no difference between risking dehydration by becoming independent or dehydrate while trying to reach my 'parent'. Unfortunately my instincts don't allow me to do so, because, 'Pup' and 'small', unlike what their name might suggest , are not indicators of age or size. Their about evolutionary potency or more accurately evolutionary potential. The lower in the scale [pup -> small -> medium -> big -> huge -> Titanic], the more potential evolutions I had to chose from, it's similar to how a child has more options than an adult. Just like I instinctively know my status and my possible evolutions, I can also understand that if I chose to become an 'independent' class I'll never be able to become a 'parasitic' class again. On the other hand if I become a parasite, once I fully take over my 'parent' I can chose to become 'independent', after all his body would be part of me, instead me leeching off him. That is why 'independent' is appearing as 'small' while 'parasite' is appearing as 'pup'. Choosing a 'independent' class right now, would decrease my potential evolutions, something my current body instinct just don't allow, even if my mind wants it. For what reasons my body feels such a need for strength? I don't know.....and that scares me. I'm digressing, I need to find a way for me to get water. My roots growth speed is too slow, maybe on a forest or on a more humid terrain, a growth speed of 0.08cm per hour paired up with my ability to absorb water would be enough. On desert though... I could only pray to stumble upon one of my 'parent' main water roots. Given that, Im not even able to breach his small ones...the idea isn't the best. Well, not all is bad, due to the sandstorm I've at least unlocked the sand and the wind elements part of my evolution tree. Once I unlock the 'parasitic' class by taking over 5% of my 'parent' stem, I'll hopefully be able to turn into a 'parasitic sand cactus pup' or 'parasitic wind cactus pup. Given the fact I'm getting closer to death every second.... I should probably get to it.
