Zayn's pov:
I smelt something alluring and the scent is pulling me towards its direction. It's warm and welcoming. I found myself going towards the direction in which the scent is coming. I forgot the reason I was there .all my mind could think about is that amazing forest scent which seemed to attract me more. I stood up from the bench and started moving towards the scent. I didn't know it but I started running towards the scent when I suddenly bumped into someone and then we both fell on the ground side by side. Then suddenly the lamp hanging to the pole nearby fell and made a hole on the ground at the place where the person whom I bumped into was there a moment ago. I looked towards the person to notice that she was a female and she is FAY. I saw Finn trying to help her stand then he looked towards me. I stood up and looked at them I messed up very bad. Finn came towards me I thought he was going to hold me by my collar and land a few good punches on my face but instead he took my hands in his and spoke
"Thank you for saving my mate rouge".
Ooh he might have noticed from my scent that I was a rouge. Rouges have different scent from wolves of a pack. Then an idea bloomed into my mind.
"it's okay sir" I said.
"What you want rouge ask me anything I'll give you right away "he said.
"Sir I need a job to feed myself" I told him and put up an act like I am a lone wolf .
"Oohh I dark wood packs beta I will appoint you as a guard. Meet me tomorrow in the dark woods pack house. I'll tell the patrol guards to let you in " , he said.
"Thank you so much sir" I said.
Then I smelt that again my mate's scent. I bid my goodbyes to Finn and made my way to the place where that scent resided. I ran towards the scent and ended up in a grocery store. There stood my mate giving of that amazing smell . she is beautiful like an angel she has dark hair she is pale with green eyes. She looked amazing simply perfect.
She is human. I was shocked by that generally humans and werewolves being mated is rare. It was shocking that this happened in my case. There was a little girl beside my mate. She looked like an exact replica of my mate. Is she?????? No don't think like that Zayn she might be her sister. I went near my mate with love pouring out of my eyes and heart. Then I hugged her. That's what mates do when they meet for the first time. Then I felt her moving away from me. Then a slap met my face. Shit!!!!! I forgot that she is human. I looked towards her brown eyes to see anger shining in her eyes. I should have expected this. She then turned away from me and took the little girl with her. I stood there with a feeble smile on my lips like an idiot.
Now that my mate is not in my premises I get to think of what I had actually done. God I screwed up the mission. Alpha is going to me so mad at me. If I show up at the house without beta Finn in my car trunk I am going to disappoint everyone. With that thought I got into the car and started driving towards our pack house. After 20 minutes I reached there. I got out of the car and walked into the living room to see Jax, Donte and Ronald on the couch. When they spotted me they came towards me immediately.
"What happened?" Jax asked.
"Did you bring him?" its Ronald now.
"Did fay beat your ass for trying to attack Finn. I told you guys that could happen" its Donte now.
"SILENCE" a voice boomed from the staircase.
We have all showed our necks in submission to the alpha who was now descending down the stairs.
"What happened Zayn?" alpha asked me.
"I am sorry alpha. Things didn't go as you planned them. I sorry I let you down. I was supposed to kidnap Finn but suddenly I was engulfed my mate's scent. Then when I was trying to reach her I saved fay from getting hurt. Then Finn offered me a post as the guard at dungeon in dark moon pack. I am sorry alpha I messed up. I understand if you want to strip me out of head warrior post alpha . I am sorry" I said to alpha. I observed a shock on alphas face when I told him I got distracted by my mate.
Alpha took dominating steps towards me. I think he is going to hurt me. But he came and gave me a pat on my back. I was shocked . why is alpha appreciating me when I messed up my job? Did I mess it up in a good way . I was confused as hell.
" Thank you Zayn. You improvised the mission and did great work now we can go into the pack and know what's happening inside. Thank you Zayn" alpha said and went back upstairs.
Shock was evident on my face. My packmates are grinning like idiots.
"Ooh our sweet Zayn finally found his mate huh" Jax said.
I smiled at the thought of my mate. She is perfect and how I ruined our first meet. I told the guys that I got slapped in our first meeting. They laughed at that. They were shocked when they came to know that she is a human.
I don't know how to approach her since she is a human. It would be so easy if she was a human. I kept thinking of ways to approach her. When I got a call from alpha to meet him in his office. What did I do now?
