Maria laughed at it. "There's a limit to joking around, Zeronis." She said.
She was waiting for him to crack a smile, indicating that he was just joking but it didn't come.
"Wait, are you serious?" she asked him, her hand on her chest.
"Yeah," he said.
Maria wondered why everything seemed to vanish at that moment. Even the noises from the tourists around came on deaf ears for him. Her eyes focused on him, thinking if he was really existing there or was he the illusion that her mind created.
She tended to daydream a lot. Maybe Zeronis was a figment of her thought. To make sure that he was really there, she reached on his cheek and poke him there with her finger. She retracted her hand when he blinked at her in confusion.
