Layla's POV
I sprinted towards the orc leader, made it untouched from the swinging rusty weapons of the other orcs after they saw me. I bounced from the ground towards one orc to have better leverage when I leaped to the orc's leader's arm holding the rabbit.
My teeth manifested their rabid sharpness when I furiously bit it with an intent to take him down. But I was small to be successful in that. The orc leader roared in pain and let go of the rabbits down the ground.
Simon and Rolex were obviously weakened with their dislocated bones. But they were breathing and that was all I need. I can heal them.
I saw with my peripheral views that the other orcs were ready to attack me as well as the leader who grabbed its stone-made ax. He swung it fast towards me that I barely dodge. How come they moved fast for their large body? As if they were leveling up as time goes by.
If it were up to me, I would face these bastards head-on if not for the need to save Simon and Rolex from the chaotic clearing.
I growled at them, hoping it will scare them a little. But it was all my useless hope when they began to advance in my direction. Their steps created a shaking of the ground like drums of an incoming war. A war which will be unfortunately fought by me.
My eyes widened, followed by a painful suction for air when the back of the ax hit my spine. I didn't see the orc's leader move past behind me, totally guiling all of my senses. I was supposed to be faster than any of them but their agility wasn't a joke anymore. My eyes barely caught their movements as I tried dodging again with my injured body.
The world spun as the pain registered over my skull before hot blood trickled from my head down to my snout. I was thrown out toward the fallen tree with another hit on my stomach, totally debilitated.
The orcs obviously didn't care that they already defeated me when they stalked towards me, weapon ready this time. I can't move for a moment as if my muscles reacting to my own fear of the incoming imminent misfortune.
Those bastards with crazy yellow eyes and ugly blood-stained teeth. I think they were planning on mutilating me there and dividing the spoils among themselves.
Just thinking that I'll be eaten by these berserkers sickened me.
They conversed themselves in orc language before giving way to the orc leader with its ax on its uninjured hand.
My eyes went towards Simon and Rolex who were unexpectedly eyeing me too with the same hopelessness for the moment. They remained to lay weakly on the ground, unmoving due to their own injuries.
Ah. I might just die right there....with my brave and awesome rabbit friends.
My eyes were shifted towards the orc with an ax on his grip. The beast followed where I was directing my eyes instead of shivering in fear for my imminent death by its hands.
I didn't like how its eyes glinted with what appeared to be of pure malice, the beast stopped charging towards me. Instead, all of them changed direction at the order of one orc.
The pain on the knocking of my heart in my chest was unbearable, shaken when I saw them targeting the rabbits.
I forced to move my body despite the worst pain that predicated it. I think I broke my bones and yet, what the hell am I doing when I pushed myself in all fours?
All of my feet trembled but I managed to sound a loud howl in the atmosphere, completely stopping those stupid orcs from going towards my rabbits. They all faced my direction again and my howling seemed to draw rage that they equaled it with their ugly growls. They seem to realize that I was calling for the other wolves to their location that their little plan to play on my emotion was abandoned and they became intent to eradicate me first.
One orc swung its metal sphere with spikes on it that I fell back two steps, barely avoiding it.
Instead of facing them head-on, I plan into making a run for it. After jumping away from another swing of such big-ass bat, I dashed to Simon and Rolex's direction, changed from my wolf form into a human and grabbed them from the ground.
It was insanity to run in two feet but I don't want to bring weak rabbits in tight grip of my snouts in wolf form. I know they would outrun me anytime soon now that the ground behind me shook with their stomping. Some screamed on their ugly voices and some threw their weapons at me. My eyes directed at the rusting metals buried on tree trunks and the protruding rocks on the uneven path. I couldn't helped but imagine my skull cracking open if I ever got hit by those. I shivered.
"Shit, that was close. Ouch, ouch, my legs." I grimaced hearing my injured bones screaming for mercy. I made a brief glance behind me and my throat tightened upon seeing large hands reaching towards me. "Gahhhh!" I screamed my head off, unapologetic if I had gripped tighter on the poor rabbits.
I was an inch distance away from their deathly hands when I felt a hard shoved from somebody behind me before a tempest of wind followed. My hair flew in thousand direction by the wind's impact, making my eyes watered a bit. I gasped when I finally lost control on my footing.
The next thing that I notice, I fell face-down on the soil with rabbits trying to wriggle away underneath. I let them go and casted a glance behind me when loud grunts could be heard from there.
"Holy shit." I exclaimed, gaped mouth and wide eyes.
Hunter altered into wolf form, ravaging the orcs violently with his sharp canine teeth. I thought my eyes were playing trick on me when the Alpha engage into the fight turned into his human form in the middle of the fight which was stupid thing to do because that would mean he will be weaker compared to a berserkers.
