"Of course. I was about to say hi but then there was something in your head that warned me not to." Gian let out a hearty laugh at that. "I could say it was working when no one seem to bother you or even sit with you at the table."
"It didn't work with the girls, though," I mumbled, a little shy with the fact that he saw me in such a state.
"They will always be an exception." He said. "Here, let me open the door."
As he opened the canteen's door, Maia, Jira, and Kanali saw me immediately.
"Right here!" Kanali called out.
"There they are. Come on." I said to Gian.
"Hey, I'd like to join you if that's not too much," Gian said as soon as we made it to my friends' table.
"Nonsense. Come sit with us." Jira said.
"No, you should get your food first," Kanali suggested.
"Oh right." Gian laughed and looked in my direction. "Let's get some?"
