Chapter 24 - Memories Lost But Not The Resolve

"Now that I think about it, he may possibly need atleast 100 or 200 years just to understand and utilise the world principles."

"What???"

"I'll help you shorten it so don't worry."

The God of Time added an extra barrier around me.

"Combining with the barrier inside, 1 year should be equal to a millenium."

She teleported herself and Karina back to their original bodies.

"In the meantime, do you want to see you race?"

"Yes please. I will also take this time to grow my 10th tail.

Meanwhile, in the spirit world, the elder spirits were in a meeting discussing my future.

"The boy has too much killing intent. It makes me worry for his future."

"I agree. No child should possess that much hostility within them."

"When we searched his memories, we found that ever since as a child, he had seen things no child should've ever seen."

"So we all agree that the source of his killing intent comes from the way he has lived?"

They all nodded in unison. One of the elder spirits, a crone, stood up.

"Then I propose we alter his memories slowly as we train him while getting rid of his hostility."

"It will take a while but I agree."

"If we're to succeed, we'll have to change everything entirely. That includes his family too."

The spirits started chattering with each other as they spread ideas. One of them, a young lady spoke.

"Instead of altering his memories, why not erase everything entirely and instead, make him believe he was raised here? It will solve every single problem and besides, we'd be helping him get rid of that horrible life he led and the family that made him like this."

"Exactly. I mean who let's a child become an assassin. If it wasn't for that, he wouldn't have turned out the way he did."

"Yes indeed. But now since he's come here, we will heal him."

"Yes. The God of Time has also seperated the area where his body is in a seperate dimension so we have more than enough time to properly heal him."

20(20,000) years later

The crystal pyramid around me started to crack. I was using my mana to forcefully break it open. After much struggling, it finally shattered and a whirlpool of my energy shot up high into the sky, creating a bright red beam. As the beam receded, I sighed as I got up. My evolution and my word magic training were successful. Due to my evolution, my once blonde hair had now turned into a a rich golden-yellow with a few strands of my hair being black. It was also quite long as it reached the middle of my back. I had gotten taller and my physique was much more defined. The spirits had made loose clothing for me. They were a darkish green with patterned edges. I wore brown leather boots that reached up to my ankles. My hair had grown quite long during my evolution and my eyes were slightly red in colour. I had my giant sword strapped to my back. It was encased in a big black sheath which had a white white stripes surrounding it. I looked around me as multiple spirits around me began to slowly disappear. I bowed my head.

"Thank you for all the teachings I have recieved."

They smiled as they finally vanished. I was left alone in the forest. I began running and jumping through the trees as my thoughts ran about.

"I don't know how it happened but when I jumped off the roof, I somehow woke up here. The spirits took me in and I've been training with them for a long while now. They've taught me everything I know and it was time for me to say goodbye to them. This time, no matter what, I will not let anyone trample on me, regardless of who they are."

I vanished as I darted around the trees at immensely high speeds. I soon stopped.

I waited for a while and I then detected 12 sentient creatures and I instantly went to them as I vanished. I arrived but I kept myself hidden as I watched them from a tree branch. They were beastmen transporting human slaves in two wagons pulled by a horse. I smiled.

"They probably have some coin on them right?"

I vanished and appeared by the roadside just a kilometre ahead of them and waited. They soon appeared on the horizon. I was leaning on a tree as they got closer to me. I didn't do anything at all as they started walked by me. I didn't need to. My eyes glowed as I saw the malice around them. I knew that they would be the ones to act first. As if on point, they unsheathed their swords and surrounded me from all sides. I stood up properly and smirked.

"Are you really sure you want to do this?"

They laughed.

"Blame yourself brat for crossing paths with us!"

"Yeah you should've ran as soon as you saw us coming although...I still woulda chased you."

I looked around. There were 5 of them with three in front of me and two on my sides. One of them was sitting on the cart smoking. I smiled.

"I will say this once...and I expect you to obey. I want all of you to give me your money."

All of them looked at each other...and laughed as loudly as they could.

"Come to this big brother and I'll give you some money..."

He licked his lips as he looked me up and down.

"...for a price ofcourse."

They laughed again but their joy didn't last long when I vanished and grabbed the guy on the carriage by the neck. The rest of them fell down in pain as they realised I had cut one of their legs off with my mana blade.

"When I tell you to do something, I expect you to do it at that moment or else things like this will happen."

I looked at the man I was choking.

"As for you. I want you to get me all the coin you have here right now."

I let him go as he scurried around the cart and opened the pouches containing gold. I walked over to the one who licked his lips. I pried open his mouth with telekinesis and ripped out his tongue with telekinesis also. I held him steadily by the shoulders as blood flooded from his mouth.

"Now listen here. I wouldn't have gone this far if only you didn't...make...that...statement. It disgusts me."

I began thinking about the 'toys' for men I saw in my past life whenever I used to browse on the internet.

"If I were to neatly cut off your limbs, I bet someone with the same tastes as you would be willing to take you in."

Tears started pouring out of his eyes as he shook his head vigorously. He realised what I was going to do as I raised him up to chest height with my telekinesis and formed a mana sword in my hand. I swiftly cut off his remaining limbs. I turned my head slightly as I looked behind me.

"You only have one chance. If you miss, I'll tear off your fingers."

The man who I had sent to collect the coins hesitated as he dropped the poison needles in his hand out of fear.

"Good. Now bring the coins over here."

He walked ovee and bowed his head as he handed me the sacks full of coins.

"9 thousand taels only?"

I sighed.

"We're going to have to compromise."

I sinister smile painted my face.

"You guys should have a bounty on you right?"

3 days later

I was steering the carriage to the city of Rubis. After 'gently' asking for where they were going, I decapitated all of them, froze their heads in their own respective blocks of ice and hid them with illusion magic. I also decided I would sell the slaves in their place.

As we entered the city, I payed the toll tax for myself and the slaves while quickly enquiring about the city.

I used word magic to make him speak the truth and also voice how he feels about the topic of discussion. I soon went into the city and arrived at the meetup point. I stayed there until late at night when a man carrying sacks full of coins came to me.

"Here is the money for all the slaves you have. 60 thousand taels in total for 6 slaves."

I looked at him in the eye.

"Then what's that sack of coins behind the door for?"

"..."

"I'm giving you 10 seconds to fetch my coins or we will have problems."

"Uh...yes sir."

He quickly went and came back with it.

"Good. I'll leave these little cuties to you then."

I got of the cart and walked away. The man spoke.

"Safe travels sir."

I stopped.

"Now that I think about it, I've decided to keep these slaves for myself."

"W-What???"

I thrust my hand into his heart and killed the three guys on the roof with my Hakushi beam. I turned around and opened the cage containing the slaves.

"You girls better come up with a way to compensate me for going through all this trouble to rescue you."

I went inside the building and erected a barrier blocking anyone from going in or out.

"I should try not using any magic and see how far I can go."

I cracked my fists as a barrage of men with swords and daggers came to attack me.

"I'm going to enjoy this."

Meanwhile in Linchestin City Palace

"You're saying you saw a blonde man with a big black sword ride a cart full of slaves into the city of Rubis?"

"Yes my Queen. He also had the heads of six men frozen in blocks of ice but they were hidden with a high level illusion magic. Everything we've collected is in this notebook."

"I see. Continue reporting the situation as time goes. You may leave."

"Yes my Queen."

The Black Cloak vanished, leaving Maria with a mixture of feelings as she read the notes taken.

"Isaac...did you finally come back?"

Ashley appeared in front of Maria.

"I got word that someone who resembles Isaac has appeared in Rubis City. Let's go."

"But what if-"

Ashley grabbed Maria's hands.

"We're going. I don't care how slim the chance is. It's better than getting nothing over the past 20 years. Even Karina is nowhere to be seen."

"It's true. She vanished the same time as Isaac. Even though we searched the Blanca Forest, we found absolutely nothing. It's like both of them had vanished."

Ashley had a solemn look on her face.

"But why hasn't he come and looked for us yet?"

Maria got up and grabbed her hand as she pulled Ashley to the door.

"Why don't we ask him that ourselves. We should be able to make it if we move fast enough."

Slave Merchant Building, Rubis, Winchelin

I had arrived at the office of the boss. I had cut off his hands and stopped the bleeding by sealing the blood vessels with ice magic. He was in distress as he spoke.

"Why are you doing this?????"

"It's simple. I just felt like playing and no one would cause a fuss if I played with you. In fact, they might make me a hero. Don't you think so? It's a beautiful story. A man came into the city and annihilated the scourge of the commoners. Because..."

I chopped off a section of his arm with the sword one of his men used.

"...I heard some interesting things about you. Like how you opened the Commonwealth Funds. You would let commoners borrow money from you so that they could start businesses but soon, those businesses would run into some sort of problem."

I cut off another section of his arm. He fumbled about in his chair but I had kept him still and had closed his mouth with my telekinesis.

"Those problems would either be gangs messing up the shop, a mysterious fire starting, supplies somehow not arriving or bad rumours spreading about the said business."

I cut off his entire arm.

"Quite frankly, that annoys me. So I sent a shadow clone to do some further digging. It turns out you're Avis Sikim, the son of the late Yijo Sikim. Since your father died, for the last twenty years, you've been rather cosy with Rubis' citylord. Helping him keep the commoners down has earned you quite the favour with him."

I grabbed his neck and a long sword. I picked him up and placed him against the wall. I took the sword and ran it through his abdomen and into the wall, being careful to dodge most of the vital areas.

"Oh right. That answers the reason why I cut off your arms and hands. Wouldn't want you taking this out and running right? You have about atleast 16 hours left to live before your organs fail you."

He looked terribly weak. He didn't even try to fight back anymore. He was sweaty and he was breathing heavily.

"I'll go get some food. I haven't eaten ever since I got here."

I vanished and appeared by the cart. I saw two women standing by it. One with black hair and another with blonde hair. I formed a ball of pure red chaos mana in my hand.

"Who are you people?"

Both of them turned around.

"Isaac?"
