Laura and Carl had no idea how long Sophia had been standing behind them. If she had known they would stop her from going to work, she would have fought back.
Carl had been adamant, but he realized how much his daughter was like him when he saw Sophia. Now was not the time to bring it up; Sophia needed to be patiently convinced. Only when she understood that going to work was not good would she stay at home obediently.
"Sophia, you're awake! Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you." David broke the silence.
"Thank you, David. I don't feel like eating, so no thanks," Sophia said.
"You can't not eat even if you don't feel like eating. I know you don't feel like having greasy food when you are pregnant. Since you don't want to eat I'll make you a bowl of chicken noodle soup," David volunteered.
Ever since he found out that Sophia was pregnant, he had tried to find out everything he needed to know about pregnant women.
