When Sophia left, the interns hadn't come back yet. This was good, too. There was a lesser need for unnecessary explanations.
Sophia and the others had been deliberately polite to make the atmosphere less awkward.
At some point, Sophia felt that she was tired of unnecessary social interactions. She felt that her time was better spent on more important things.
Fortunately, there was not much on the first day. Sophia saw a few employees, who had come back early, watching her leave.
Among them was Bruce. She did not know if it was an illusion or something else, but Sophia saw the corner of his mouth twitch and a relieved smile.
When the elevator door slowly opened, Sophia took a look at the office space. The people on the seventeenth floor seemed to be used to the arrival and departure of the people here. No one greeted Sophia.
They only took a brief look at her first, then continued with their work, just like when she came in the morning.
