Leonard Ethan had some vague guesses about why the police were suddenly knocking at his door, but he remained very calm and answered their questions according to the plan that had been previously arranged.
It was apparent that these two officers were merely following orders, so after hearing Leonard's standard responses, they took a brief statement and left The Chamber.
Before leaving, the officers routine informed him not to leave the area before 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, and that the investigation would be considered closed unless they were notified otherwise, and then they departed.
"It seems that we've probably been targeted, although there aren't many people from the Thule Society around here," Leonard quickly typed these words into his mobile phone and passed it to Joan, who had been feigning sleep.
"The opposition's position allows them to mobilize some local official power, but it's only limited to marginal influence. So, it doesn't pose much of a threat to us."
