Just like everyone imagines the Western Region to be, the wilderness of this area is desolate. Once you leave the community, humans and plants disappear, and only occasionally does a car speed by on the black highway, leaving behind a trail of dust.

According to the previous plan, Leonard and others would enter the mountain area at top speed, then follow a valley barely passable by vehicles to reach the location that had been marked before.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the City Centre, Leonard followed the GPS positioning to steer the car off the highway and onto the shoulder, then he headed towards the more northern mountain area.

"This seems easier to navigate than I thought," Joan said to Leonard, who was sitting in the driver's seat, after driving on the Gobi Desert's barren land for a few minutes.

"I thought it would be very bumpy, but now it seems that apart from a bit too much dust, there's nothing too troublesome about this stretch of the journey."
