During the midsection of the auction, Leonard noticed a leather suitcase appearing on the auction table. When the suitcase was opened, it revealed a wooden stick covered in carvings and gold foil.
Despite the whole thing looking like a weird mix of garish and gaudy, it was actually the scepter passed down through generations of chieftains from a large tribe in southern Angola.
However, it was taken away by the Portuguese during the 19th-century wave of colonization in Africa, then fell into the hands of a wealthy Portuguese man, and subsequently was acquired by the members of the Golden Society through some legal means a few years back.
Now, part of the upper levels of the Golden Society had been captured by the police, so some of the previously unknown possessions of the Golden Society were now known to them.
