Edinburgh is the capital of the Scottish Region in the United Kingdom. It is positioned on the southern shore of Scotland's central lowlands and the Firth of Forth. With an area of about 260 square kilometers, it was established as a city in 1329 and served as the capital of the Kingdom of Scotland from 1437 to 1707.
Leonard had been to this ancient city a few times before. Unfortunately, on these past visits, he was either too young or swamped with work, leaving him with little energy to explore the city.
This time upon arriving at Edinburgh, Leonard and Joan first found a highly-rated restaurant to satisfy their hunger, then leisurely took a bus to Hill Street in the Newtown District.
Hill Street, paved with cobblestones and lined with buildings from the Georgian era, is a tranquil oasis in the bustling Newtown District of Edinburgh, totally contrasting its surroundings.
