Over the following two days, Leonard carefully inspected these relics stored in the emptied water pool. As he had imagined, all of these artifacts were from the Chinese premium relics once placed in the Penn Museum.
Aside from the two statues of "Saluzi" and "Quenmaogua" from the Six Steeds of Zhaoling, which were smuggled into the United States by the relic thief Ching Tsai Loo, there were many other valuable artifacts.
Among the large sculptures were the Hebei Yixian Eight Buddha Pits Liao Dynasty painted Arhats statues, the Jin Dynasty wooden statue of Guanyin in the moonlight, and two limestone Bodhisattva statues of the Tang Dynasty.
There were also three intact Buddha statues from the Northern Qi Xiangtangshan Grottoes, two Northern Xiangtang Dabeidong center pillar south niche attendant Bodhisattva heads, and one Yuan Dynasty Ash-embroiled Xueshan Dashi statue.
