Because of Fairmont's exclamation, Leonard Ethan and Joan were immediately drawn to him. They saw him holding a small stone no bigger than a soybean with an excited expression on his face.
"Let me see." Leonard took the small stone and pulled out his magnifying glass, revealing a greenish-blue stone with ring-like patterns on the surface.
"This is a peacock stone, a mineral that had a wide range of applications in ancient Egypt." Leonard told Fairmont and Joan. He was able to identify it so accurately because the peacock stone's appearance is really easy to recognize.
"Peacock stone? I remember this material was one of the raw materials used for casting bronze wares by ancient people." Fairmont thought for a moment, then said, "Did ancient Egyptians also use this in extracting metallic copper?"
"Yes, and besides being used for smelting metallic copper, the ancient Egyptians also used it as an amulet for dead children and as a dye." Leonard nodded and continued explaining.
